A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Looks good as well, trevor. Nice clean example of the original 1100E, the bike some claim killed the CBX project. Cheaper, better, faster. Hehe.

What jetting changes did you do to it?

Daniel
I did not do any yet. That said I am firing off an email to the original owner to ask if he had put in a jet kit (he had put in a K&N filter) and I had a mechanic look at it and tune the carbs. There seems to be no "flat" spots and the plugs look good. This all said I am monitoring the situation closely.
What do you think Daniel?

I would suspect that the fuel screws might want to be out a wee bit more and the main jets could go up a size or two.
That should do it.
Still using the stock air-box at this point, right?

As for the title of this thread, I did put 130 miles on my new '81 1100EX today. ;)
So far, it is getting 41.2 mpg. That will improve by next week.

Daniel

Supposed to be out riding tomorrow morning but this rain is a tad ridiculous... mind you I've been able to give the rain suit a good test on the way home and it passes with flying colours :)

Washed the bike then went out for 85 (55mi) km ride. It started to snow when I was washing my bike then stopped. Then I got caught in the snow on the way home. That was effing scary!! Needless to say it was cold. Worst part is my bike is dirty again.:(

There fixed it for you:D

I did 240 miles today in the Hill Country. I took some pics and tried to upload one of Enchanted Rock, but it kept failing.

Just work and back today with a quick jaunt to the Suzuki dealer to pick up my front disc pad shim finally... hopefully tomorrow I can ride without squeaky breaks! It was nice to ride in the sun for a change... and my bike's still filthy from yesterday...

testing photobucket sorry.

Don't be sorry, nice pic!

Here is a pic from yesterdays ride in Indiana when it hit 65 degrees on the last day of February. 65 degrees in Feb, ridiculous! Today back to 38 degrees, bikes back in the garage. I found the last bit of snow that I could in a parking lot, hopefully a sign that spring is on the way.

Dang, that is one nice looking bike. Went for a ride today since it FINALLY made it to 10 Celsius (I'm so getting cabin fever for warmer riding weather).

Actually found a road that I had never been on before. Hard thing to find when you're on an Island.
