anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Yesterday, I did 120 miles on the 1100 out in the Hill Country. After a killer breakfast at the bowling alley in Blanco, I went through Luckenbach and saw all of the pirates then headed south towards Comfort. The pic is of the Blanco River just east of the town of Blanco. The old GS ran as it did over 30 years ago.....awesome.

I took Goldie out to stretch her legs a bit...

Went to the burbs in search of some twisties through a first preserve I used to frequent as a kid.

I found two, count em, two, curves worth mentioning.

Ah, Illinois.

Which forest preserve? I know some of them have some curved roadways, but they're all 15 mph kind of roads....

Anyway - no pics, but took a little 300 mile Milwaukee-Joliet round trip for a family function. All interstate hwy, so 70-75 mph the whole trip, and the 'ol girl just ate up the miles. :D

This is what GS riding is about. A siesta stop against a big ol' tree looking at the White Mts on the return leg of a 500+ mile riding and camping trip.....

I took the Big Guy out for a ride today: down to Denver to check out a vintage bike swap meet, then up to the high country and home the long way on the Peak-Peak Highway. Just starting to get fall colors now, a little earlier than usual. In about two weeks the aspens should be in full color.

Great day for riding!

It was beautiful today here in SE Texas, before the rain showed up. Went for a ride and had a beer with the wife, away from the kids. It was almost like paradise.

good times!

Went out for a ride with my fiancee, this was on her second ride. We had a great day, she is loving being on the bike which is awesome! We ended up doing about 150kms today. We are so lucky to live here. This pic was taken in Sooke BC.

Then tonight I gave the 1150 a bath and to it for a little spin out to Sidney by the ocean.

To work Friday morning (42 degF)
IMG_4621.jpg

Friday after work, heading across the state (from Holland to Saline/AnnArbor, 160 miles) to visit daughter and SIL. I spent about an entire 3 minutes planing a route, and then didnt follow that either.
IMG_4625.jpg

I was wanting to see farmland, cows, corn. Also saw cabbage fields and celery fields.
Here is along a county road south of Grand Rapids. Cut corn and bean feilds.
GPS kept pointing me to Interstate, but I was following map. Stopped here to change gloves, a bit warmer here than along lakeshore.

SATURDAY
Rode over and joined Mr Redstedman's VJMC/HondaF ride thru Irish Hills and around to The Dam Site Inn in Hell. Besides Redstedman was myself, was 4 others there from GSR (6 if count my son and SIL) of a total of 12 bikes. Was great.

SUNDAY
Rode back over to Redstedman and rode to Stockbridge for All Clubs bike show.

Have added pics to Restedman posting about ride Saturday and and show Sunday.

I should harrass any and all of you Michigan east-siders that did not join us, especailly any south-easterner.
Rustybronco tried anyway.

This shot is beautiful. The early morning fog and color from the rising sun are the perfect backdrop for any motorcycle. Really nicely composed shot.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. As far as composition; I would have liked to have found a spot that avoided the white line, and had the blueberry field up closer, and have waited a few minutes for sun to rise a bit more, and then a few more minutes for yet another, maybe different color, but... I was on way to work after all, and had already turned around to go to get to east side of road.

I have some other sunrize shots enroute to work in morning where I did venture off to find other place. Is in the "sunrise sunset" thread. And other sunrise and other sunset (at Lake Michigan) shots with bike promenent.

You mentioned composition; Sunrize or sunset are both nice setting for composing a mo'cycle picture, but does present a difficult exposure situation (have also discussed that in "sunrise sunset".

Nice.
All three.

Do you get any comments about how many pictures you take of bike(s) and how many pictures you take of her?

I get comments about that.

Haha...funny you should say that Redman..:p That has come up.:)

Nice one Rich! Although the pair sitting on the verandah look a bit of a worry...

I got out myself yesterday, nearly 260km's and didn't run out of fuel... I think that means my economy is a lot better running with the 95 octain fuel and after replacing the Dynatek. That makes over 54mpg this time... nice!

I reckon I live near some of the best places for riding around here and the weather really turned on yesterday too, perfect spring day!

The usual pit stop at Mt Mee:

And I had to pull over here which is where we stopped with Glen back on the last run after installing his make shift master link:

Looks like they're just ripe and ready for Halloween Trevor! Looks like you got some spot on weather there too, although I'm guessing that's Fall for you rather than the Spring we have here...
