A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

^^Nice ride JEDZ!

Glad you made the most of a CLOSED dirt trail.

Today is my Effective USAF Retirement Date as well as my Enlistment Date...2011 and 1986...10 years retired and 35 years since Boot Camp.

It's a day I'll never forget...regardless of the All Fool's Day history.

I went for a 45 min cruise first of season yesterday.
I was all happy told my friend who mocked me for being two weeks later than him.
Picture me on a bike. Man the onboard temp readout is fast. Makes you aware of how fat a Celsius degree is.
14 in elevated areas instantly dropping to 10.5 in hollows.
Shivers and histamine responses.

Went for ride Wednesday evening, barley over 40degf when left. Just a short ride further out of town, and then into town. same as have said before, and photo similar to as posted before. Although to find a somewhat more interesting scene for pic I did find my way around closed gates into the portion of park not yet open for the season.

Was cold and windy at the beach, and after walking the pier and walking beach for sunset photo walk I will admit to being cold (despite walking around in full riding gear and gloves , and heavy hat I brought to wear thier instead of helmet). What was unique and interesting was that I warmed up some on ride home. I attribute that to that bike’s wind protection and heated grips. Thermometer on porch at home showed 30degF when got back home. So, apparently it is more chilling to walk the pier/beach on a cold windy evening , than is to ride mo’cykl (that one anyway) that same occasion.

haha what an enthusiast, Jedz. Gotta say that Honda really hits an old man's funnybone. Looks like a riot! "Wheelie potential kind of a negative..." oh gee, it's off my list, then. :) Funny!

HAHA Glad you guys got a kick out of it! I have a new, more solid mount coming for the GoPro. It was fun to get out!
Thanks for following along!

I tried the 5s once on my bmw but have since gone back to the 4s... I ride in the rain a lot and noticed no difference... and the 5s only lasted about 6,000 miles while the 4s I get 10,000 miles out of
interested in your thoughts on the 5s mileage

Well, so far the FJR's Road 5's have 5,560 miles on them. Tread depth before getting to the wear bars is still 3mm rear and 1.8mm front. Any idea what the tread depth is new? Forgot to measure and I'd like to estimate how many miles are left in them.

I rode into town today to meet with the first clients from our houses getting their covid shots today...had lunch with my wife overlooking the ocean on Dallas Rd and then took the long way home. :)

It’s nice to see you out and about Trevor; how are you feeling?

Thanks Scott, I feel not bad...the hip and leg get sore...I can't walk very far...there is more "clicking" in my clip now...still waiting to hear when I go in for a hip replacement....I'm getting a call Thursday from a "navigator" to talk about the surgery.
I am so looking forward to it....life seems to be on hold.
Cheers

Oh, and Happy Birthday! :)

Rode home last night and enjoyed a bit of snowiness. It's definitely exciting. Hand warmers were on full blast but my thumbs still froze.

Back to a warming trend for the next few days. Yayyy!

It was sooo nice today. We were having family for Easter so I was kind of bummed I wouldn’t get to ride on such a beautiful day. Low and behold my 10 year old niece really wanted me to take her for a ride (her first). And mom was OK with it so it worked out great for both of us. We both had a blast.

Safety briefing:

then off we go(this was just her getting on, she knew not to hold on to my shoulders):

After the family left I was able to get in a short evening ride to a local graffitied covered bridge. Very different massages tagged on opposite sides.

Your bike is gorgeous Rich. Love that blue on the tank. Looks like you still have the original rear shocks and dual exhaust (you do, actually).

EDIT: And I see you have single-braided front line.

Aw, thanks guys. I have a friend/neighbor who owns a body shop. The paint was done about 15 years ago. It was some left over color from a custom job he did. In certain lights it really does pop. Upgraded the brake line to a Venhill braided SS about 2 years ago. The rear shocks are original and holding up. Though I have nothing to compare it to. They may be weak but my butt doesn’t know any better. Pipes are original and in good condition except the PO drilled a bunch of raggedy-a$$ holes in the baffles. Pi$$es me off every time I look at it. May stop at an local exhaust shop I’ve used before and see if the guy can do anything with it.

As all our bikes are, this one has been a labor of love, blood, sweat and tears. But it’s mine. And I like it. Thanks for the kind words.

No images of the bike just me hitting a turn faster than I should have on the Tracer...
