A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

...............................................................Then one of the other guys crouches down and is taking a close look at the motor when he says "hey! he's got four carbs on this thing - that's what must make it so fast!" Huh? I got nothing to respond to that with................

You could tell them that horsepower is torque TIMES rpm.
And, maybe could also say; If are going to use an engine design that limits the rpm just so it looks and sounds a certain way, well, then are limiting horsepower too.

Great story of an interesting ride/ experience.

Last weekend a few of us took our non GS bikes for a bit of a ride in Michigan's UP. Despite the rain and swarms of mosquitoes we managed to have a good time.

Bikes before we left the cabin.

I look forward to more dual sport riding in the future.:D

Awesome pics, Whitedog. Offroading is my favorite, tons of fun with no cages.

Absolutely a blast. 85 miles in about 5 1/2 hours and never got more than 20 miles from the cabin we stayed at. Its not alway about going fast .

That day would have started for me with a bike photo in front of the Blue Fox cafe. What a fun town to ride in I bet. I often wonder if you guys out there have a longer than mid west riding season? Maybe rain hinders. What is the tourist season for whale watching?

We don't get as much rain as a lot of people think here in Victoria. People assume we get the same as Seattle or Vancouver but in fact we get about 30 days less rainfall a year than both those places. Something to do with mountain ranges. I ride all year, not sure if I even missed a week of riding in the winter. We didn't see a single snow flake this past winter.
As for the Blue Fox, yes great breakfast but a litttle too busy for me, don't like lining up.;)
And the "Whale watching" is all year. Done it a couple of times myself. Very cool!:) Really feel fortunate to live here. But we pay for it.

Snuck out for a short ride this morning while the baby napped and Mommy showered...

... pretty sure I spotted Trevor's GS750 parked at Tia's Heritage Cafe as I zipped by. :)

Why yes, yes I did!:D

Land Between the Lakes National Recreation area. Had the road to myself other than a couple of deer and a wild turkey.

Houston we have a problem! The stop sign was where I was trying to get to. Took a 10 mike detour to get there. Still fun though!;)

Lol...you sure did. Went out for breakfast with my son. My wife was at her first day at a motorcycle course. You Kat looks awesome!!

And you had a camera in one of those big bags.

Good that are not any storys of any road encounters with any of the deer or turkeys.

... and did you go observe some?

.

The first deer I encountered was standing right in the center of the road and stayed put until I stopped and tried to ease my camera out of the tank bag. Then he sauntered into the woods. A half mile later I saw another (or the same) deer crossing the road in the other direction. BTW, this was about 11:30 AM.

Found myself with an afternoon to myself.

Rode from Muskegon to Newaygo, like I have done before.
This time I did contact Greg78GS750 before hand, but he was not available.

THis ride goes along Muskegon river in places, and crosses over the river in places.
Have posted pics of along this route before. Tried to find new scenes for pics this time.

Got out with the Kat boys again today, and Sarah joined us on her Triumph for the first time in a while.

Looks like I've shaken my rain curse, the weather was perfect! Aside from the daily commute, this was my first good dry ride with the Sport Demons on, and I've done over 1000km's since they went on!

Had an MV Agusta Brutale and Husqvarna Nuda 900 park beside us at the Pitstop Cafe today too:
