That was a very nice 89' Honda GB500, and it's only got about 4'000km or so

Glenn, Rob and I got together for a ride (Sorry Dave didn't know you were off today) today. Rob's G had some issues so we went back to his place to trade it for his E. I love riding with guys who have more than one old bike.:p
We also hooked our Sena systems to one another, that inspired some pretty funny conversation while riding. Glenn almost got struck by lightning.:p

No worries, it was a surprise to me too. Good day for it though! :D

Thursday evening ride.

Thursday evening ride.

To the beach to check out a campsite..campground not open till May 24.

Keeping the Kat theme... met up with three other fellas for what turned out to be a very short ride yesterday. Two Kats, an 1100G, and my 450.

Reg wasn't feeling well (leaning on the Kat) and I discovered my front tyre is looking a little... well... used... so we decided a short local ride for brekky was enough for the day.

This week's goal for me... track down some tyres!

My grandson went for ride today, sort of ....

He "helped" me clean up this GK seat I got on EBay (have been looking for couple years).

And then went for a ride on it, before it went back in box.
(Maybe a couple weeks before get GK out of back corner of garage and uncover it.)

We did other things today also.

It was cold up in Cloudcroft today. Had a quick bite in this joint then came back to Alamogordo. My "T" did pretty good for elevation 8650.

Pete. Check out Pirelli's. I put them on my Kat last fall and I think they're... AWESOME! :)

That's what I have on there... Sport Demons... I love 'em, but I think the problem is that the sizing is just not right for the 450. I should have a 90/90-18 on the front but the SD's only come in 100/90-18 and up... I think it makes the profile too "pointy" for longevity... If it was only a weekend bike it would be fine, but the commute/weekend compromise is the big killer...

Tularosa & Mescalero, New Mexico - 6Apr2014

Tularosa & Mescalero, New Mexico - 6Apr2014

Took a late ride today...up on Route 70 towards Tularosa then Mescalero. I'm glad I bundled up; it was briefly snowing on my way down from the Mountain. Let me tell you about the wind...WOW!!!

I was leg-squeezin' my tank and hiding under the instrumentation panel like nobody's business! For a sec, I thought the wind was gonna toss my bike to the side but I kept her straight and she pressed forward. I'm getting plenty of training riding in HIGH winds here in New Mexico. Enjoy the pics!

Here's where the weather got interesting...

Beautiful scenery. What a pleasure it must be to have all that open road to yourself. What's the temperature over there this time of year?

Yeah ain't our winds fun! Especially in the mountains. Pipes look good Ed, no bluing. I'm hoping the Earth ride the 26th will be wind free. I think you'll enjoy the ride we will be doing. Say this Sat we going to a Blessing of the bikes event, then to the Elks club for the after party. Interested?

Thanks! Yeah, it's great to have all this open road to open her up! Temps were mild...70F. But when I got to the mountains in Mescalero, it was a different story. There was a little bit of snow that dropped on me while coming down. I was bundled up pretty good but the cold air fogged up my helmet.
