DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Fall colors mostly yellow and brown.
We have bits of color here and there, so I took a rather short ride after work today to show a couple of trees in my neighborhood.
Had to catch them quick, before the leaves got blown off.

Wish the ride could have been longer, but there is too much to do at home. :-\\\

Ive been exploring the southern Vancouver Island roads as weather permits.
Its been pretty misty/wet for a month at least.
From a guy whoz lived from one end of Vancouver Island to the other now.
Always in a sports car or a powerful bike.
Easy formula.
ANY road that goes East/West on the Island is one non stop series of managable sporty type corners.
Seriously fun.
Riding a hot rodded Bandit 1200 while I get my GS1100E upgraded.
Lower Island back roads out to Sooke.
Lower Island out to Cowichan Lake.
Mid Island out to Tofino(omg, hell ya.).
Mid Island out to Gold River.(top 3 lifetime).
Upper Island out to Port Alice(top 1or 2 easy).
All of them so tight its hard to get carried away speed wise that you couldnt survive at least a low side.(?!).
You cant have a bad ride going across the Island.

The Southern tip of Vancouver Island a week or so ago.

This is my fav spot on the Island.
Had to hike into this spot.

I ran into these two bikes at my favorite bar last weekend. On the left is a 94 CB1000 the guy bought for $400. On the right is a pretty nice custom build: 91 Nighthawk 750 frame and motor, CBR front forks, VFR single sided swingarm, and Yamaha XS650 tank (I think). The guy did all the work himself except for the seat. It was his first day out.

Played hooky from work and took the bike out to Chesapeake Bay. This is the longest trip I've been on and it was awesome!

I got a similar picture several years ago.

Just after passing this sign:

I got this shot:

To give you an idea where that is:

I went for a ride today, but just to my mechanic's shop. He loves to shoot the breeze and I needed something from his shop. No pictures, still in the 90s here, so not the most comfortable ride.

Lots of bare trees, lots of brown leaves, only a few red trees.
Rare sunny day in November in Michigan.

And a fairly clear day could provide an interesting sunset.

A lot of Bandit fans here.
How about a pic.

TL1000r front end, Hyabusa rear shock, Yoshi muffler, Pods/K&N StageIII, HiComp pistons(the 2001 Bandit came with too big oil ring groove holes and most burnt oil), Triumph Headlight, taillight tuck/led's.
With the clip ons the riding position is quite sporty, I will add flat bars and a Fly screen, and think it's perfect.

Went out looking for a riding game tag and got distracted when I saw another bike with an old Vetter fairing. I turned into the same parking lot and parked where we visited for an hour. It was fun discussing the differences in these old bikes. I also got a lot of good route ideas from this guy and who knows maybe we'll hit some of those roads together sometime.

His 78 KZ 1000 took him four years off and on to restore.

25 degreesF this morning.
But upper 40s just after noon. THats good enough.
Headed out. Destination about 55 miles north, wandered out on some roads thru national forest.

Stopped in only one place ... just watched the creek for a while and took some pictures.

Did make it to a couple different disc gold courses, including this one

Byy the time I was heading back, was low 40s.

About half way home the tach dropped to zero. THought of stopping to investigate, but thought probably just came loose from behind the tack.

ANd by the time I was near Spring Lake it was about sunset, thought of this boat launch might provide view over water in direction of the sunset.
Yep.
