A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Had to go into the hospital this afternoon but the wife had an appointment and Charmayne needed to use the truck to get Cheyenne to and from bowling practice. What to do? Have Charmayne drop me off at the garage so I can take the bike of course. It was a warm day out today which proved a bit uncomfortable as my winter gloves were all I had in the tank bag but it was still a nice ride in

That Van Van looks like such a fun bike!

I got out before breakfast this morning to try out the new balaclava. Works fine, my neck and chin were toasty warm. Too bad my hands froze after five miles.:( No windjammer on the KLR. Next time it's the GS, probably a lot more on the GS actually till it warms up. Oh, I painted the hand guards so they're not pink anymore, LOL.

So this evening I took the GS out for a 30 mile ride. What a difference! Not only was the cold windy night tolerable, it was enjoyable!! I changed gloves from this morning and had warmer hands but the fairing made all the difference in the world.

Who went for ride today...?
Not me.
Nor did I see anyone else.

Looks like ride of 2 days ago maybe last in a long time.

... hum, but then again, didn't see any county salt trucks out (did see some city trucks), so some roads could be okay in a few days.

Nooooooooo!!!!!!
Just a matter of time in the Northeast. Perfect timing for my TUX to be down...

Red, you're a LOT tougher than I am! Lack of snow is only part of the requirement for me to ride; it's gotta be above at least 50; 70 is better. Yes, I am a big ole wuss.

With that be-ute-tee-full 850 you have, it should be put away till April when is zero chance of any salt on road.
I may take out the shadow on occasion if roads clear and not a lot of salt residue. Fairing and heated gloves and other cold weather riding gear makes a big difference.
GK will not be out till about no chance of salt.

Yup..... that's our world for the next few months, isn't it Red? Just makes us appreciate our good weather that much more, doesn't it? At least that's what I keep telling myself. I drove into Dexter this morning to get my hair cut. The barber shop is on a busy (for Dexter) corner, and has two walls of big picture windows. The scene outside was straight out of a Christmas card. I wish I had had my camera with me; I'd have taken a few pics.

It was really just there and back so only just over 100km's, but a few of us headed over to one of the other Katana Australia fella's house for a BBQ brekky and a chin wag.

A very enjoyable morning out and perfect sunny weather for it, definitely getting on the warm side on the trip home!

Yep. Will be differnt when ground froze so snow doesn't melt on pavement.

Hey, Are you gonna acknowledge your BOTM.....?

Thanks for posting pics of bikes on the road.

What are those dark areas on the pavement next to the bikes?
Seems to be in a shape something like the bikes.

>>later note. Oh, shadows. Yah, have those if not heavy cloud overcast. I almost forgot what sunshine is like.

Yeah I know I got BOTM, but I didn't know there was anything I could do to acknowledge it. Am I supposed to do something?

I believe that coffee and donuts for EVERYBODY is the standard practice. :-\\\.

If "everybody" is considered a relative term then it's not an impossible suggestion.

Sounds like a great idea, but I may have to rent out the MI stadium to accommodate everyone on the Forum. Dimo's donuts for all!

http://www.dimosdelianddonuts.com/

That venue may be a bit optimistic. Even though there are over 7k members only 670 are "active", and with less than 20 guests at the moment, a high school gymnasium would suffice. Logistically maybe 60 dozen donuts (a pick up truck load) and assuming each has an 8oz cup-O-Joe, 60 pots of coffee or roughly 45 gallons. Give or take...

I remember when those Katana's first came out and they were in all the magazines... OMG did I have a lusting for those damn bikes!! I still think they look sexy as hell. I didnt have nearly the pocket for it but now maybe I should keep an eye out for one just so I can scratch it off the bucket list.
