If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

I rode about 100 miles today in two stints. Beautiful NW day temperature in the 50's. Just a couple of short loops outside of town.

Just rode around town, I dont have much range since my stator is bad. The new one should be in today so I wont have a battery powered bike ;)

Me and the boss. I had been sick all week and the weather had been crappy. I was on duty later so so we just went for a quick zip down to a couple of local parks.

I knew you were not in this thread talking about riding today!....cold and wet allll day. I cleaned the garage up to get in "1100 mode" , thanks for those links.

No prob, I'll help ya anyway I can, no riding, I stick to the better weather riding, plus I have my GrandDaughter today, looks to be so so the whole week, might actually get the Tempter back on the road by mid next week.

The old guys got together for a liitle ride out to Metchosin and then back roads up to Sooke. Great day and great twisty roads. 16 and sunny today. And hey Greg we saw you and Sheldon. How was your ride?

We where doing the same ride more or less.It was great.Wonderful day with a some great roads.Mr.Pics didn't bring his camera:o

Somewhere around 230km's today... Dayboro via some nice twisty local roads, then Mt Mee, Woodford, Kilcoy via Neurum Rd (horrible bumpy road that!), Somerset Dam, Mt Glorious, and home.

It was a pretty awesome ride with very little traffic out and about given it was a public holiday, and nowhere near as many bikes as I thought there would be.

The day was only marred by the constant cloud cover that made it a little chilly over Mt Mee but damn freezing over Mt Glorious. I had a thought that I should put the liner in my jacket this morning but didn't... I really should've! Had to stop at the cafe just to get a hot coffee into me to stop shivering!

Anyway, on with the pic's...

Rest stop on the back side of Mt Mee, and you can see the cloud cover everywhere, just a small patch of blue here and there:

Couldn't help but get some reasonable shots of the 450 given I gave it it's first ever wax the other day:

Woodford was very quiet, there's usually 4 times this many bikes up there... although I did have a good chat with a fellow on a very nice '79 KZ1000 which I wasn't able to get a photo of:

Continued...

I had to make a pit stop at the bottom of Mt Glorious, and the cloud cover continues:

Interesting place to advertise Ducati service, just at the spot where all the boy racers pull up after going down the mountain to turn around and go back up again:

No photos up at the Mt Glorious cafe even though there was a Velocette up there as it was just too damn cold and I didn't want to move other than drink the hot coffee... but I did collect some bugs today:

Nice ride Pete, I always enjoy pictures of your bike and countryside, one day I'll have me a scrambler project.

Fixed some electrical gremlins and decided a short test ride was due, a mere 60 mile jaunt in the neighborhood, rode down by one of my favorite fishing holes, Spencer Lake.

Thanks mate, I'm always happy to share... John was busy yesterday so couldn't join me and the couple of guys at work that have been keen to come out were busy yesterday as well, so it's nice to be able to share the ride on here at least :)

A scrambler project sounds good... a 450T with the wire wheels would actually be a slightly better starting platform I think... ;)

Nice! You scored some blue sky too! I had none at all yesterday and I live in "The Sunshine State"...

Rain today:(

I want to start with the biggest twin for my scrambler, or maybe convert a big single Savage into one.

Aaaah a big thumper... that would definitely be a goer! Belt drive single twin shock rear... could be just the ticket ;)

Also, Big Rich has another GR650 he's made up as a dual sport although a little more dirt focussed... his build is over on Do The Ton though...

I'd love to use a GR650 for the project, but finding another one, let alone that cheap again will be impossible.

I went riding with a friend and took the freeway for the first time. It wasn't bad at all, the bike had plenty of power but you do get blown around a bit with no fairing. We got off after a couple miles and stopped for coffee before heading south to Gilroy. The roads coming from 152 to Watsonville are epic btw, perfectly smooth and fun to ride. I took it easy in the twisties but it was still fun. We eventually ended back up near Morgan Hill and had lunch downtown. I managed to get 43mpg and I wasn't exactly riding that conservatively.

i was gonna take the 850 out today but my gixxerpunk kid said, "why don't ya take my 1000?" why not? so i took it and mostly kept it under 100.

while heading up the hill out of town i noticed something weird in the mirror. on the other side of the valley someone was having a bad day. scary.
