A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Anyone have one of these fairings?

I had one for awhile on my previous bike, can't say I was impressed with the fit and finish of it. After screwing around with it for a few weeks, it was very functional, just not very pretty, that was about 5 years ago, maybe they have improved them since then.

Brian, I have that exact fairing on my 1000g - and I have to say that I love the looks - it's completely useless as a fairing, unless you tuck down behind it - but it looks great. It was easy to mount and it gets compliments all the time ... 8)

i have the same fairing on my bike, i think it works great and for 7 bucks i couldnt go wrong buying it :D

anyone try this on a 80 gs750e or something similar?? Stock headlamp is square, and would need to be converted to a round, but I think It would be worth it. Any input??

I have that fairing on my Yamarat. Geneerally that's as much fairing as I like - keeps the wind off your torso so you don't have to pull yourself forward. Works fine for that, cheap. Installs to headlight bolts. Screws and washers rust in about 20 minutes. Good for the rat, but a little cheesy for a clean bike.

Thanks for the input guys. I was curious if it will fit mine as well. I believe I have the nine inch headlight on 85 gs700e? It says its for a seven inch headlight. Can anyone tell me what size my headlight is considered?
I measured it and it came up around eight inches the way I measured it.
It is the stock headlight, not modded in anyway. Thanks, Brian

JC Whitney fairing

JC Whitney fairing

Do you guys jnow if the JC whitney fairing discussed in this thread will fit w/o modification on an 80 GS850G. Mine has a 7" round headlight and OEM turnsignals mounted to the headlight frame. By the looks of it I think that it would, JC Whitney however, cautions against it.

Thanks

Maier makes a similar one that fits square headlights. It looks like the ones that used to come on the early '80s GPZ bikes.

The square headlight one seems to be about $100 more than the same round headlight one.
