Anyone see the latest Rossi and Stoner show?

Yeah I spilled my coffe when that happened. The minutes prior to that were getting really exciting as Rossi was battling his way forward. when he got up on Stoner I was thinking "man is this going to be a battle" It looked like we were going to be in for a hell of a race.

Rossi is phenomenal in the rain but he pushed it a bit much this time. Stoner was ****ed and rightfully so I thought. I'll bet some words were said in the pits by both sides but I hope Rossi apologized.

Lorenzo should not have won that one.

I think its shaping up for a great season. Lots of good riders in that pack.

Can't wait for the next confrontation.

Cheers,
Spyug

That was an incredibly stupid move by Rossi. As I was watching it I was saying to myself "this is not going....yep it didn't".

Well he did apologize but I don't think Stoner feels he handled it right: http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2011/stoner+and+rossi+after+clashing+in+jerez

As I read between the lines I get the feeling Stoner felt Rossi needs the limelight even in these situations to keep him safe. Likely, with the media people around it ensures Stoner won't go off on him. I get the sense Stoner wanted to tell him what he really thought but didn't have the opportunity.

Its going to get wild I tell ya!

Cheers,
Spyug

I finally got the chance to watch it tonight and have been avoiding the results since Sunday. I was consequently spewing... not so much because of Rossi's error, but more because of that pathetic marshalling. When I was marshalling, if we did something like that we'd likely be asked not to come back next time...

Anyway, I loved Stoner's comment, absolutely classic... and I still like Rossi too, he just shouldn't have tried that pass so early in the race, it was never going to work.

And yeah, that should set us up for an interesting next round, if not an interesting season...

What makes you say Lorenzo shouldn't have won ?????????
I think he rode a great race . He set the pace and everyone else crashed trying to stay with him . That's what world champions do .

Go young Jorge .

Cheers , Simon . :clap::clap:

Well from where I was sitting he was doing fine at the beginning but seemed to lose his momentum when Stoner, Rossi and (I think) Pedrosa got ahead of him. I think he would have had a real difficult time catching them had they not pooched out. For a time there I was thinking it was going to be a Rossi/Stoner/Pedrosa show.

I guess I might be a bit prejudiced too as I feel he has that typical Spanish arrogance. A little too cocky for me.

He might win the series this year but I'm hoping someone else will bag it.

No matter how it turns out its going to be a dandy season.

Cheers all.

Well you know what they say... to finish first, you first have to finish...

I did like how Lorenzo went to pretend to jump in the lake like he did last year but then he slipped and fell in anyway... haha, that was a nice little light amusement to cap it off :D

I wanted Simoncelli to win after Stoner's and Rossi's collision, but alas that wasn't to be either...

I will definitely say congrats to Lorenzo though as he stayed on and was calm throughout to top the podium. He has certainly matured in the last couple of years!

Colin edwards loses a podium on the last lap again, now that i think about it both times were with one corner to go.
Spies looked pretty good until the crash
Hopper is back on a zook
Hayden got a podium

hopefully we'll see americans on the box a bit more this year

Spies will be on the podium soon I have no doubt.

Hayden is always being outdone by a stronger team mate unfortunately, but he's very valuable to every team he's in because of his hard work and never say die attitude.

Edwards, I dunno... I think he's lost a little of his killer attitude he used to beat Bayliss those couple of times. I really miss those battles actually, they were fun!

Hopper... well he ain't goin' nowhere on that Zuk I'm afraid... I really wish Suzuki would do something, after all they make awesome bikes :D

What is with Suzuki these days?Almost like they turned there back on racing.Leon Haslam was leading the WSBK then Suzuki stopped development a left him out to dry.All but killed they're Motogp from what I can see.Trouble?

Yeah it's weird, down to one bike this year and with Bautista who isn't the quickest out there (at least not yet).

And yeah, the GSXR has done well around the globe, yet in WSBK they've really dropped it... very weird.

Yeah that marshalling was pathetic. Looked like about 6 guys ran to Rossi (who caused the wreck in the first place) to help him get back started and not a single guy helps Stoner until after he is away and then they couldn't get it started. He was LIVID and I thought the TV coverage was horrible in that they didn't go back and replay the incident and really didn't even mention it. Inexcusable.

Did any of you guys notice how loose the Ducati's looked? It looked like they were all over the place exiting corners. Think it was more the bike or their tires (and obviuosly wet conditions but the Yams or Honda's weren't near as loose)?

the marshalls only went to Rossi's aid first because he was trapped under two bikes, Stoner was up and running round having a tantrum. it wasnt the marshalls fault that the Duke wouldnt fire up again

Yeah but that interferes with my biased opinion :p

There was so many going down that I wondered if there wasn't a problem with the tyres .
Seems like the only one who found the "limit" for the tyres and didn't push past it was ................................. young Jorge .

Go young Jorge !!

Cheers , Simon . :)

You got that straight Simon! That attrition rate was atrocious, and when there's only 17 bikes on the grid to start with it looks even worse...
