A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

When I bought this bike the owner said it had a Yoshimura head on it but I figued BS. Now I find this, are the stock G1100S heads D-ported ? Does this look like it might be Yoshimura head from what you can see. Sorry I screwed up & got the one pic too big. The head has the capital letters P & another P underneath it and the initials C L in hand writing scribed underneath it on the right side of the head if that helps

Last of the 1100 16 valve engine where d-shape but not sure what models. A 83 GS1100gk head has them also. The writing mite be just some engine tuner claiming as his when he done the port work.

here is a relatively aggressive 1100E 16V street port (certainly in comparison to what is normally called "mild porting"). Head was cut for 28mm (1150) intake and stock exhaust.

You can also PM Terry for his opinion on how much work was done.

One think you will note is Terry completely cut down the valve guides from the runners. Even after the porting there is a pronounced D on the exhaust side.

I guess if it wasnt full of carbon it would show up better but I see what you mean. I havent taken the head off yet to see the motor size & the rest of the head. Frankly I was surprised to see any work had been done on it. I was just curious about the D-port deal being stock or not. This head could be 27 year old technology work too. Thanks for looking.

I'm not exactly sure (and you should check or wait for someone else to respond) but that if that floor on the exhaust side is removed the bike will run like $hit if at all.

The big mod on a normal head is to put that d-shape on the floor to aid flow. Where is rapid when you need him. All i know its a way better setup. Honda CB1100's around the early 80's had the setup aswell.
