I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Attn: Aussies - Where can I buy plugs like the stock ones?

Take a look at this eBay auction:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Motorcyc...cycle_Parts&hash=item1c14427f8a#ht_2464wt_952

That's the same plug as used on my gauge wiring where it plugs into the harness, and the same seller has lots of those style plugs.

Next Saturday I plan to swap my stock gauges for my Acewell, and I'd love to be able to hook the Acewell harness to the stock plugs, but I can't find anywhere in Aus to buy them!

I'd buy them from the UK except that it doesn't leave me enough time for shipping. The stuff my wife buys occasionally from the UK takes 2 to 3 weeks to get here, but I need them in just over a week.

Anyone seen anywhere here in Aus that sells these sorts of plugs and can steer me in the right direction?

Pete,

I would think Hella or Britax would have them.

Ken

Hey Ken, cheers for that. Neither turned up in my searching but I didn't look specifically for them so I'll do some more hunting. I haven't had a chance to go scouting shops yet, just the Internet.

Don't know if this will help you much, but these folks are located in the Republic of California.

Cheers Dale, I've seen those also but there's still the shipping time issue unfortunately. I know I could get them quicker with Fedex or whatever but it ain't a cheap alternative...

Worst comes to worse I'll just chop the connectors off the harness on the day but I'd really like a fall-back position if I can't get it all done on the same day. Don't wanna be without the bike come the next Monday...

Pete, i am probably wrong and our bikes are different, but i think the length of the stock cables and the length of the cables on the acewell will make this pretty hard to do.
i did mine ages ago and i am by no means a perfectionist, but i would pop your tank off and have a look before you worry too much about sourcing connectors.

Thanks for the tips and links guys, no joy so far locally.

Ken, no go with Hella, Britax, or even Narva.

I'm not going to get the opportunity to go scouring retailers tomorrow either, so I think I'm probably going to have to go hard or go home and just chop the harness... oh well them's the breaks right?

Tim I was thinking just to make a very short adaptor basically between the existing harness connectors and the Acewell harness, and there should be plenty of length from the Acewell harness to do that. I'll be popping the tank off sometime between now and Saturday to properly plan everything out so I can just get stuck in on the day. It's election day as well so I'm going to lose a significant amount of time to go vote.

However, looking like a no go on the plugs so will more than likely have to start chopping away regardless.

I guess I can always get the plugs later and redo it... but that seems like an awful lot of work...
