DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have a set of Road Riders on my 850G. They were installed just before I bought the bike and now have about 3000 miles on them. I love the tires except the sidewalls on the rear tire have a bunch of cracks. I have seen this before on old tires but these are not old. Should I worry a bunch and just replace the tire or should I run them again? If I had the receipt I would try and get a replacement but I don't have one.

If they were my tires, I would replace them. Also even though the tire was recently installed on your bike doesn't mean it was a new tire. Check this link on how to read the manufacturing date of your tire:

You'll need to scroll all the way down to the bottom. From what I read, it seems that 4 years is the longest you should run a tire and then you should look at replacing it. Hope that helps.

There was a long thread a while back with several people making the same comment. At least one person from that thread sent their tire back for replacement. I'm not sure how dangerious the situation is but you might want to take some photos and send them to Avon to see what they say.

I authored one of those threads. I didn't get a reply from Avon about the 2 rear tires that developed cracks within 500 miles. What size tire is on your 850? I am curious to see if the problem is in more than one specific size.

I am still running the last cracked tire on my 650, it has not worsened since I noticed it originally. I may have 1500 commuting miles on it. I picked up a nice wood screw somewhere in the summer which I have plugged also. How badly cracked is yours? Mine is one nearly continuous crack about a half inch from the rim. I don't see any other new cracks developing but it is also winter here so I haven't inspected for a month or so.

As for using it; I am an idiot, please use better judgment than me. Sometimes I think I have a death wish. If you make contact with Avon, please report back because I am sure we are not the only few affected.
