A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey guys, i had to switch over to a bandit ignition switch so it would mount to the triple and look clean. here is my problem. I have all lights except the tail light. when I put a meter on the tail light I get 8 volts. 12.6 everywhere else. Now the new switch has 6 wires. the old had 4. completely baffled. Any one done this?

GS igniotion swtich has contacts specific to the tail light. This is related to the "park" position that maybe others do not have.

But overall here is the wires in harness for the GS switch:
RED. Power from Main Fuse
ORANGE. (powered by Red when ON) Orange wire is for Power back to the fuse block for Head, Ignition & Signal
GREEN. Power from the light circuit that is powered by the Signal fuse.
BROWN. (Powered by Green when switch in ON, Powered by Red when switch in Park.) Brown wire To the taillight, taillight only, no other lights.

Would have to look at Bandit schematic ... or play with Bandit swtich and figure out which is switched to which in what position.

.

,,, or you could put the Brown wire along with the Orange wire (and abandon the Green wire, cap or tape it off). That will get your taillight working but will not be on the signal fuse like it is suppose to be, if any short circuit or overload on the taillight it will then blow the main fuse not the signal fuse.

Maybe can find which other two leads of the bandit swtich are connected together when in ON position, and put the Green and Brown on those, so Taillight will then be on the signal fuse.
