hey so i think i know which bars i want but id like to see how these other bars look. Anyone have a link or can upload pics of each of these bars on a bike?

I cant tell how high or in which direction these bars go in this photo.

+1! Both of Nessism's bikes are superb.
Here is mine with the Superbike bars on it....probably the most common aftermarket bars fitted to these bikes.

Shorter cables are nice, but not strictly necessary when changing to lower bars. I used a 1979 GS1000S clutch cable and 1982 GS550M (Katana) throttle cable on my 850. Also used a 550M clutch cable on my old 550. These cables fit perfectly and are highly recommended.

I don't really care for the stock "L" bars - need something that leams you a little more forward. I was thinking about the daytona bars as well.

The height of the bars needs to match the bike and your intended riding style. I like the Daytona bars on my '82 850 because of the relationship between the seat height and the bars. The earlier 850 had a higher seat so this might changes things, and the L models are different all together.

When I had both the 550E and 550T, the T had a lower seat relative to the top triple clamp. Superbike bars on the T felt similar to Daytona bars on the E model.

Bikemaster makes all these bars and they sell for pretty cheap - less than $20 each. For that price, you could a couple of different sets and play around.

It would help tremendously if we knew what kind of bike you were looking to put your bars on.

Looking at your photo of the bars, I'd say that the stock "L" bars are maybe a bit longer than the "LTD" setup, and the stock "E" bars are similar to the "Nighthawk" bars.

On my 750E, I swapped out the stock bars (which I refer to as the "roto-tiller handles") for a pair of bars that are very similar to the "Daytona" bars in the pic. I don't know what brand they are, I found them in a box at Cycle Recycle here in Indy and paid $15 for them. The difference in comfort at 60mph+ speeds and the amount of increased quickness in the steering is nothing short of remarkable, to me at least. The best $15 I've ever spent on a bike, IMHO.

When I picked up my wife's 550L, I swapped out the stock bars for the stock bars off the 750E. That made a huge difference as well. The seat on the L is lower in relation to the triple clamp than on the E, so having longer bars on it makes some sense. I'd still prefer slightly shorter bars, but it's my wife's bike, and she prefers the longer bars to compensate for her shorter arms.

I really dislike the bars on mine, stock I guess. I think the Daytona bars would be the best.

These are Daytona Bars, I tried the Euro bars but the wider L cluster put the M/C into the tach and they would not work.

Gen 1 FZ1 Bars on an 1100ez

These handle bars are from a Generation II, FZ1 (06-07). I think they only came in silver those years. Cost $35.00 from Flatout

I think they look sweet. Only problem for me is they give me a pain in the back after about 90 minutes. They are a little higher and further back than Superbike bars so they may be an option for some. Wish my back liked them more.

Do the Daytona and dragbike bars allow for bar end weights?
