A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

First off, I'd like to apologize for kidnapping this forum to ask for help about a Gixxer, but I don't have a clue where to turn.

Second, today I bought a 2003 GSXR750 and I'm wondering if the batteries for this bike can even be charged.

There are no plugs that you can take out while the battery is charging by a regular charger. Can it even be charged or do you have to just buy a new one when this one is empty?

Also, can anyone tell me where I can find a (free) User Manual for it?

Thank you!

You should not charge this battery with a normal charger meant for a lead acid battery, yours is sealed for life so you need a trickle charger :)

Thank you, tone. At least now I know why the damn thing started whistling when I hooked it up to the lead acid charger. Thank god I realized it was the battery that was whistling and quickly turned it off. It was bloated already though. *cringe* Put it back into the bike, gave contact, and left it to stay for a minute with the headlight turned on, hopefully that emptied it enough. I'm going on vacation with it tomorrow, so hopefully it'll start normally.

sigh, seems like I really need that user's manual in pdf.

Again, thanks for the info, tone!

and another. I've wanted this bike, exactly 750 and this model for a long time. It was an excellent day, passed an exam with flying colors and bought a bike I've long wanted.

Thanks for the offer, man, but this was a more a spur-of-the-moment buy, since it was a good deal (a discount of 1300 EUR from 4300 to 3000), I wasn't intentionally looking at them (cause I believed I couldn't afford it).
