I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.
Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.
So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

Returning Visitors
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have never looked for battery-powered gloves, but if I were in the market, I would be sure to look for some that could use standard alkalines or rechargable cells.
Use the rechargables until you get too far away from your charger, then have the option of stopping at the corner gas station to pick up some alkalines.
Besides the simple fact that they can be recharged, nickle metal hydride batteries (the typical rechargables, nowadays) will go 3-4 times as long as the alkalines.
Even better would be if the gloves could also be powered by the bike.

They look good, and liners allow you to wear your normal gloves on top of them. At $25.00, the price is also good.
Don't miss the "fine print" section, where it says :
My limited experience with products sold by Brookstone has gone in both directions. It seems some items are either overpriced or inferior, (maybe both) but most are good, and they get some exceptional things, as well.
EDIT:
The price was too good to pass up, so I just tried to buy them and found there is only one size available and, unfortunately, I do not wear a Large/Extra large.

I just visited the manufacturer's site (activheat.com) and saw that they also have some 12-volt gloves for powersport use. They claim they are too warm to use without a heat controller, though.
Price of the gloves is $62.83.
Apparently, the cost of the Y cable to power the gloves is not included, it's another $20.
Price of the controller ranges between $70 and $140, depending on features.
Just how warm do you want to be?

I ponied up and bought a pair of Biketek 12v gloves. Hard wired them into my bike. They have a simple jack style plug which I attached to the handlebar near the stem. The glves have a HI, MED.
, LO setting and work perfectly. Total cost with shipping and an extra wiring harness for my other bike was 160.00. Money well spent IMO.

Therm-ic offers a no compromise self contained gloves. No comprise on the price, though-even on clearance.
