    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Simplest and cheapest path is to just fix your existing carbs. Chef and Blowerbike are hotrodders and want to see everyone go broke just like they are from overspending on their bikes.

Get a replacment carb body, get an o-ring kit from cycleorings.com, and do a proper carb rebuild using the tutorial on the GSR homepage. All said and done you can get everything together for $40 or less and save all the headache of rejetting a set of carbs never set up for your bike.

I have the oring kit, placed a add on the wanted forum, but no response yet for a carb body.

I responded in your wanted thread - you need to specify which exact carb body you need. Also, Tkent and Chef already offered to help so you might want to drop them a PM with details of what you need.

I responded that it was a left outside carb. (sitting on the bike). Sorry for the delay.

What is the meaning of the word "Nessism"?
Old boring fartiness?:p
My motto is:
"Too much power is never quite enough":D:evil:

Gearhead, I like your stye of thinking! I come from the school of "Too much is just right!" :D Ray.

The OP wrote "I'm just going to ride it in town, but I want it to run good."

Why encourage someone like this to spend a bunch of money?

My moto is...if you want a faster bike get something modern. A new set of RS36's w/K&N filters cost more than most 1100G's are worth.

During my automotive drag racing days, it was "If you're not breaking things, you're not racing hard enough."

I'm just messing with you Ed.
I agree just get a carb body and fix the 34s. He asked the board what we thought was the best carb for his bike and we answered.

nah! - modern is for kids who _think_ they're fast ;)

if i counted the cost or rebuilding an early 80's muscle bike it would still be rotting in someones garden.... have i done it once, nope. have i done it twice..... nope. unless you're an investor these aren't the best things to buy anyway.... if you're in it for the grin factor and to feel what proper power feels like then hand over that credit card 'cos the more ya spend the larger you'll grin..... guarenteed! :D
