A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Rebuilding the BS32s on the GS850 and buggered up 3 of the needle jets. They took a lot of banging to get them out they were essentially glued into the carb body with varnish, I need a lot of other part too mostly o-rings. Is there some sort of factory direct mikuni parts warehouse? I looked them up on RMATV and they are about 20 bucks a pop, a lot of O-rings aren't listed for some reason.

Thanks for any help,
Josh

The o-rings are easy. Go to cycleorings.com. It is run by one of our forum members FOR our forum members.

For the jets, try Jets R Us. I didnot see needle jets listed, but give them a call. There is a chance I might have what you need in my stash, I can check this evening when I get home.

.

The shipping from the UK would probably kill me. Thanks for the link to the oring site.

@Steve ifyou've got some good ones laying around I'll take them just let me know. The ones I have can no longer accept the main jets because when I was driving them out I boogered up the threads from all the hitting. Even using a brass punch. Most of my Jets are in good shape after going though the carb dip. Looks like most of my replacement parts are going to be o-rings on the fuel tubes and enricher circuit plungers.

That's just the fuel mix screw. Mine is good. Z1 is a great site but their kits don't have what I need other than the bowl gasket and I don't see needle jets in there. Most of my parts are good just orings are rotted/rock hard after 35 years.

If Steve's stash doesn't produce, appears the X-5s are still available from Suzuki @ around $18 a pop. There are also a couple on ebay: Link

Yup was seeing them on the various OEM sites for 15-20 ;bucks. Not awful other than I maimed three of them lol. Guess i need to look closer at the 4th one. The varnish really had them glued in.

I'm really new to this. Mine is an 82 GS850G. Where can I find carb rebuild kits and fork kits? Everywhere I see them they all look different and I dont want to spend a bunch of money and not find the right parts!

Sometimes shipping from the UK is not bad. Ordered OEM Triumph brake parts and with shipping were still cheaper than stateside.

OEM parts sites used to be my go to but then I switched to my local shop who can get them just as fast as the sites send them to me for about 3 dollars more than online but with no shipping. Is yous the L (cruiser) or standard model? All you probably really need for fork parts are new seals and dust wipers unless you are going to respring then you can get springs pretty much anywhere that sales bike parts.

Z1 enterprises carries carb kits you can search your bike specifically on there. Your bike should have Mikuni BS32 carbs if you want to look that way.
