A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I've searched online and have found a few places that sell gaskets and such but haven't been able to find a place that sells complete kits. Is there any place online or would my local Suzuki dealer be a better bet?

Carb Kit Capital is one place I've found for cab parts.

Thanks!
Denny

Buy all your o-rings from http://cycleorings.com . Robert Barr (a memeber here) has them all. Buy OEM float valves, air mix needle valves and so on from PartsShark, Z-1 enterprises, etc. Most complete kits are a complete waste of money.
BassCliff will be along with his megawelcome and many good links for parts and info shortly, I'm sure.:)

Yup, common forum wisdom is to get an O-ring kit, and don't forget the intake boot O-rings. You may need floatbowl gaskets and pilot plugs, Z1 Enterprises is a good source for that stuff. Everything else inside the carbs should be reuseable. Carb kits are not only unnecessary, they typically are full of inferior brass parts as compared to the Japanese made Mikuni stuff. You need to do a full tear down, and soaking the carb bodies to do the job right. Most newbies short cut the cleaning process and wind up having to do the repair two or three times. You have been warned.:)

Thank you very much! I had a lot of stuff going on last year and never got a chance to ride my bike. I rebuilt it about four years ago and have never had a problem with it running well in the spring except for this year.

I pretty much parked it every fall without doing any winterizing. I think this is a wakeup that I should be doing something.

Mikuni Kits

Mikuni Kits

I've been looking for a week trying to locate a site to purchase a kit to rebuild the carbs . i bought this bike a week ago and can't get it to pass emissions because of the carb's . Anyone know of a respected company that deals with mikuni carbs .

i have a 83 GS1100GL

cycleorings.com Get CV carb kit plus intake boot O-rings. Z1 Enterprises for float bowl gaskets and pilot plugs if you need them - not certain until you take the old carbs apart.

Hi Mr. DENNYDOG and (since you hijacked the thread) Mr. Black Knight,

Again, DO NOT buy complete carb rebuild kits. Read the information above and below for the proper way to give your GS the right kind of lovin'.

I just stopped by to welcome you to the forum in my own, special way.
