A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I will be replacing the seat cover on my "new" 1000G, and have been doing some research. I've read a few threads here, but would like to know what covers you all have used. I'd like to keep the stock appearance, but a slightly different style (i.e. carbon fiber) would be OK.

Check with Z1enterprises.com Travelcade is also a good brand

LOL great minds not only think alike, they type alike- your reply was not up when I edited. Thanks for the other tip.

Pit Replica (which you can find on e-bay) makes a nice seat cover, I think it might be a little "slicker" than the stock one though. Suits me OK as I like the stock seats.

Mine looks exactly like the original except it is reinforced (by stitching) at the famous split area for the 82-83 1100E.
I looked at their store on eBay and it only had a few Suzuki seat covers listed, so you would have to contact them. (They have a lot more than what is currently listed.) They respond fairly quickly, but English is at least their second language, so you have to give them a little leeway.

I put a Pit Replica on my red GS1000G It looks much much better than a Saddlemen .n my opinion. I have installed several Saddlemen in the past, but don't really care for the puffy look they have and the sewn rather than heat fused pattern on top. Saddlemen has a layer of foam under the naugahyde which makes it puffy looking, plus its too thick on the sides to fit the plastic trim through on the bottom of your 1000G seat. They are easy to install, and the quality is fine. Maybe better than the Pit Replica I installed, but the Saddlemen just doesn't look as good. I have two surplus ones I think. One unused, and one used briefly.

I recently bought a seat from Pit Replica. They didn't have my seat cover, so I sent them my old one for a template.

I think they did a great job. All of our correspondence was done through email and I had no problem communicating with them.

Here are a couple of pics: Original and new
