A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Bike Bandit Blows

I just bought a set of Shinko tires from BikeBandit. Good price on the tires, great price on the shipping and received the tires in 3 days.
For most things, I'll go to Z1 and even eBay, but the next time I need tires, BB will get the first look. Then shop around and try to beat their prices.

What I have found is that ordering OEM parts online is convenient BUT it will take time as the vendor has to place the order themselves and get the parts, then reproces and ship to you. If you want parts quickly most likely you will need to support your local dealer, just the way it works.

When it comes to these bikes even the local dealer may have to go through the same process. There are two dealers I've been working with locally and both have to get the parts from the 'main warehouse' where ever that may be because they don't keep them in stock. Funny thing is I can order them from the dealer 60 miles away cheaper AND have them shipped to me, still cheaper than my local local dealer. That's just dumb.

Hey man, at least your dealer will help you out. Every time I've taken the time to go in to mine and ask about something, I get a look like I'm stupid and "We can't get that anymore." The few parts I've managed to get from them when working on other peoples stuff have cost more and taken just about as long as ordering online anyway, so I have pretty well given up on them.

I've never had a problem with BikeBandit. Before I realized how high their parts prices were (about 2005), I bought all kinds of OEM parts from them. Now I just buy tires and other aftermarket things (apparel, luggage, etc...) from them.

I've placed two tire orders with them in the past six months, both times the tires arrived within two busines days, and the orders were correct. The last eight orders placed over the past five years were all no problemo.

In this day and age of computerization, round the clock warehouse shipping, overnight freight, etc... people take for granted the fact that once they press the mouse button to place their order, multiple computer systems, operated by multiple personnel, with multiple communication channels have to all work perfectly. Multiple transportation units using multiple terminals, often operated by multiple companies have to handle everything without a hitch.

Or we don't get it on time, and then complain that the original vendor we placed the order with sucks.

Fact is, I marvel that 9 out of 10 times when I order something from BB, DennisKirk, Motorcycle Superstore, etc...the stuff gets here in a couple days or so, the order is correct, and it is complete.

Just something to think about.
