    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Bike needs some rearsets - looking for recommendations, ideas

My 83 1100E fits me a lot tighter than my 78 1000s do. The seat on these is cut down unlike the nice bench seat of the 1000. The pegs also seem higher on the bike but that may be the seat?

I don't really want to raise the seat much as I like the position I am in but my legs are really cramped. They need to go down and back. If only a little even it would help.

Who has done this? Looking for any and all info I can collect.
 
Bump. I know there are guys on here who have done this. I just don't know who so I am keeping this at the top so it gets seen. Sorry if that annoys anyone.
 
Hoom, look for some factory rearsets from a smaller bike. I managed to get a perfect set from a ninja 250 for 60 bucks. They look factory and they come with all the extra stuff you might need like a brake pump and a shift lever already attached.

I haven't mounted mine yet, but it just takes two bolts. Make up an adapter that fits the frame and gives you mounting points for the rearsets and your done.

These have cast aluminum pegs with a rubber insert just like the 1100's. The mounts are cast aluminum and painted black. They don't look all racy like the aftermarket jobs....

I read in an olllld thread that honda 305 pegs were a direct bolt on and would move the position something like 2" back and 1.5" up. Not sure about the numbers, though. Id like to find some myself, but good luck finding anything for a 305.


Crap, I forgot the 83 pegs are different from the old GS models. Add one large grain of salt to this post.........

Thanks guys. Tim, you gave me an idea actually. I need to look at my bike and if I think it will work out I'll do it and post back.

GStiny, thanks man but I am trying to move back and DOWN. And down is more important than back. My legs are long and that is the issue. I'm not worried about ground clearance.
