Probably, but I'm not sure what it'll do to the metal. Any carb cleaner should be fine.
Berrymans seems to be the king of carb cleaners though. Ever sprayed some on your hand? Instant "leprosy". ;-)

All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.
A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.
A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hurts in cuts too.
Yes, yes it does. A WD-40 chaser seems to relieve the burning.
Pics Billy!!!!!!!!!! Wanna see Wanna seeOK, sorry for the lack of updates for my subscribers... :-D
The fairing has been painted a silver/aluminum colour, and the windscreen has been cut down 2.5 inches. It's mounted on the bike and lookin' sweet. Pics as soon as I can.
The forks have been put back together and calipers gone through and bolted to the forks. My original caliper float (?), the part that lets it move laterally was siezed, but now all good. Progressive springs and 1.25 inch preload for my biggish frame.
My new front tire came in, but the tube they ordered was an off-road tube and twice the price of a regular tube. We're only talking $10 difference, but still. The local suzi shop wanted 1 hour labour to install. Like heck! I used to bust tires and won't have a problem mounting the rubber.
Oh yeah! I used paint stripper on the fork legs and my spare sprocket cover. Steel wool in increasingly finer grades and mothers polish. Looks great!
Silk purse......Sow's ear.......Cockpit view. I cut down the windscreen by about 2.5 inches.
Silk purse......Sow's ear.......
way to go Billy.......
you Rock
I meant you've created a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
I have your light here pal.Aha! Ok then. Much thanks. I thought you might have been mentioning the old adage that you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, and that it still is just a sows ear, which I might tend to agree with. But it looks not too bad, if I do say so myself.
CA, If I could find the ears and bucket for an 8 incher I would switch, but this'll work for the time being.
