A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I added a flatter handlebar, painted the pipes and fenders black with stove paint. Looks meaner in my opinion

Any Suggestions from here? I was thinking different mirrors, or a black handlebar.

I was also thinking of one of those little generic ferrings that goes around the headlight, and raises just barely above the speedometer and tach

I like the way the front fender looks blacked out, but instead of blacking out the rear, I think it'd look better if you eliminated it, with a custom light bracket back there.

Still a lot of shiney stuff on there :p

Bet those bars ride a lot better too.

I am a fan of painting the fork lowers black (or matching color of bike). It really finishes the look on any bike, IMHO.

Looking good!

I would paint the whole thing Black. Black is the new universal black.

I have a butt load of rust on my down pipes and was thinking of painting them black, and leaving the actual exaust chrome.Yours looks pretty good man.

How do those handlebars ride? I looked at getting them, but they seem too low to me. On my 1985 GS550L the pegs make for a slightly 'lean-back' position, which does NOT go well with a lower 'lean forward' handlebar.

Stove paint for the most part is just high temp flat black. Usually found at most hardware stores.

Yea, stove paint at the hardware store. Its for painting grills and stoves.

The handle bars ride really well actually. I was very concerned they would be too low, but they are great. Beats the wrist wrenching L bars.

Thanks for the input guys
