A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I searched the world over..... Oh that's from another time... anyway.

In the process of searching for a metal polish to help clean up the engine casing on my '79 GS850 I came across the BlueMagic Metal Polish Cream.

I was quite surprised how well this stuff works and thought I might share.
I wanted to replace the all aluminum end caps on my Valve Cover.
I had purchased an '82 GS1100G for spare parts and to help defray the costs of getting the 850 looking and running good I parted alot of it out.
The 1100 had Chromed aluminum end caps on it and I thought this would look sharper than just plain aluminum.
I tried a couple other products and was not real enamored with any and decided to give this stuff a try.

WOW :-D I am pleased with the end result and the fact that the job was not real tough to accomplish.

5 minutes after starting I was awarded with an almost new looking end cap.
I decided to attach a pic of one that I did while writing this so you can see the results for yourself.

Hope this helps!!

Steve

A free sample of this stuff comes with a lot of the chrome engine case guards.

This is also available at NAPA. I know I carry it in my store.
