A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

The views expressed in this forum are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of "The GSResources" or the editors.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Well I bought one of these and have used it. I dont have much to compare to but generally it works as advertised.

The range is really good compared to what I have seen other people describe for other such devices. When wearing at work I can leave my office walk down the hall and almost get to the bathroom before it drops out. That is about 30 feet and turning a corner. It you are in the same room it most likley will never drop out.

I paired mine to my Blackberry Storm.

You gotta watch from pulling them out when you put the helmet on like any ear plug but they are small and fit easily. The play time is supposed to be 12Hr's maybe 3-4 to charge.

Sound quality is good , but on a GS it will suffer from the environmental noise. More power means less battery life so these offer a nice comprimise.

It does have some level of nosie cancellation as well, but can really tell how good it is. i was listening to

I bought a set of "SkullCandy" slim ones for my Iphone. Amazingly, they fit perfectly under a helmet, and never really get knocked out, untill you take the helmet off, and then they'll fall out. But, They are comfy, and sound great. And since they seal your ear, you dont have to crank the volume even on the GS-ES at over highway speed. My phone will last longer than I can on a trip, plus it has GPS, which will come through the earbuds over the music. Frankly, I think the Iphone is the perfect Motorcycle companion. GPS, Tunes, and phone all in one unit. I had been looking for a wireless set of buds just so i didnt have that wire whipping around, but all the bluetooth set i have seen are either too big for helmet use, or had horrible battery life, or were rediculously expensive....

I picked up a pair of these when Sony introduced the design as the Fontopia earbuds (non-Bluetooth). They plugs go quite deep into the ear canal, and on the outside, sit flush or even slightly within the outer ear, so they won't fall out, and with the wired ones, don't snag the helmet. Very comfortable, and superb sound, due to the close proximity to the eardrum, and the sealing out of virtually all outside noise (I don't think they have active noise-canceling circuitry, but rely on the seal to eliminate background noise). They should be perfect for GPS, but I wasn't comfortable using mine for music whilst riding, because they isolate the listener almost completely with the tunes on, making it difficult to hear the bike, other traffic, etc.
Tony.

Exact same thing I have, minus the Bluetooth. Mine died. :( First one earbud went out, then the other. I am very hard on equipment though, and I'm fairly sure they wouldn't have died if I had cleaned them regularly. Make sure nothing gets into the actual earbud itself. Like earwax. There's a VERY thin copper filament in there, and if it breaks, earbuds die. This isn't a problem with Sony, or this particular model, it's just the nature of construction on earbud headphones. I've killed many different brands with my wanton negligence.
