A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Ok, my experience with Boot Bay is one of the best examples of customer service I've ever experienced online or in person.

I did a lot of research on boots I wanted. Since their prices were the best, I figured I'd give them a shot, even though I had never used them nor did I know anyone else who had. I bought them on Feb 2nd of this year.

Their selection is HUGE but I already knew I wanted a specific pair of Women's Harley Davidson boots, which are made by Wolverine. I was going to just pretty much wear them only for riding, but they were so comfortable that I ended up wearing them a lot.

Anyway, just short of six months later, I was walking on a surface with a lot of big chunky gravel... when I got to pavement, I felt a squish in my left heel. Turned out I had blown out a wall in the hollow heels. Lesson learned: don't buy Wolverines or others with hollow heels reinforced by thin walls if you actually wear boots in any kind of rugged conditions and you actually WEAR boots for utility, not for looks.

I went online and looked up my order. Called the company to find out how much warranty the boots had. Six months, and they would gladly exchange them if I shipped them back. I had like 10 days to get these back into their hands and followed their online directions and used my order number as the RA number. I was a bit nervous considering how many times I've had someone deny a warranty purchase or had things just get "lost" or whatever.

I sent them and then got to thinking that I didn't want them replaced with the same pair of boots. No more HD boots, no more Wolverine. Another problem they had is the zippers don't lock and slip down especially while riding. So, thinking it was pointless, I sent an email to the company anyway, not expecting much.

The next day I got a personal response. This contact said she would gladly hold onto the return paperwork for a couple of weeks if necessary until I figured out which boots I wanted. We had several friendly email exchanges and she let me know when the ones I sent back arrived and let me know when the new order had been processed. No charge for shipping the new ones (Ariat hiking boots) to me.

It couldn't have been easier or more friendly or personal. When I think of all the times a company or store looked for excuses to not honor a warranty in person even and here this was an online transaction that had an old fashioned thing called prompt customer service. I got terrible service at the local western/work boot place, and they have to be struggling but still didn't care to help me or that I walked in planning to spend plenty of loot.

Boot Bay will be getting all of the boot business I can give them, and I highly recommend them to everyone else.

Be ready to spend a lot of time at their website, as their selection is ENORMOUS!! And free shipping on orders over $64 and fantastic prices. This is the real deal right here!

Wolverine in general is Very Good with their return policy. I may be a little biased (the're world headquarters is about 8 miles from my house) but I have taken back boots that were a year old, and have had them exchanged, no questions asked. Its nice to see an online source that will honur their policy.
