A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So I have an idea. I need/want a copy of the Suzuki (not Clymer, it is still in print) Service Manual for my soon to arrive '82 GS850 "L". As far as I can tell it is out of print and Suzuki is not making anymore (or else I would just buy one from them). Since it is out of print and there is no one out there who will loose money on this I would like to borrow someone's manual and scan it into pdf. I will send it back to them (< 1 week) and provide them with a pdf copy that will last forever (and will be text searchable). I could also provide a copy to GSResources. If there is a volunteer send me an email aedi006@gmail.com. If anyone has comments please post away.

Check ebay. That's where I got mine, new for under 20 bucks. I'm pretty sure there are some for sale there right now.

picking up a 82 850l this weekend, would love to have a copy of the factory manual. any help appreciated.
thanks.

I need to do the same thing for my GS1100GLD. I would like to borrow a manual and in return get a PDF on CD.

Someone should make an archive for these out of print MoM's, I really want one for my 83 850GLD. Of course if Suzuki lawyers come out....

I doubt seriously that Suzuki or anyone else would get their panties in a twist over copying an out-of-print manual on machines that are 20+ years old.

Personally, I see nothing unethical about it either.

I looked on ebay and the haynes manual is selling for under $20, but the one mdaley1008 from this site is selling is 45+. I would love to have an original also (just bought an 82 850L that has some hiccups), but don't want to pay $45 for it!

I have a Clymer manual that is not too bad, but would be interested in a copy of the .pdf. I would even be interested in making several copies if there is enough interest in them.
