DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

K&N are known to be solid. There may be another brand that people have had success with. Maybe EMGO?

EMGO are the bad ones, just a screen like a flour sifter. They let a lot of sand in, but not a lot of airflow. K&N or APE are the ones to use. The airflow problem is that there is a square corner inside the cheap pods, as air flow speeds up, so does turbulence around the corner. Also why they don't flow much air. Good pods have a small velocity stack shape cast into the body of the pod, so the airflow is much more uniform.

The sand coming through the cheap screen is a bigger worry.

I have bought the K&N rc-0984 to hopefully have no dirt in the carbs from air.
Anyway, now with the one clip down on the original jet-needle and new main jet 128 it runs very nice (even with these EMGO). So i guess i don't need dynajets. I had the bike on a tour today, about 200km .. feels good. I normally keep speed limits, but to test a bit it followed up to my limits without any fault. I had about 7000rpm on 5'th and this is much faster then i believe i need. The sparkplugs looks good also-nice tan color. Hopefully there is not more restrictions in the K&N's that will mess up. Never change a winning team..but i still have the possibillity to put back original air-box.:D

Guess i have to buy Dynajets now..

Guess i have to buy Dynajets now..

I replaced the EMGO with the K&N..to much air and wrong tapered needle i guess because it did not follow up on the trottle. Then i put back the EMGO again the bike is fresh again. CV 36mm, one clip down on the original jet-needle and new main jet 128. Thinking about sand or dirt is now my worries for running like this.
So my conclusion is that its fully possible to run with the cheap pods, new mains and lifted needles on the 36mm carb, but with the K&N's i would need to do Dynajet convert i guess :-s
