Buying Carb Sync gauges... is this the best deal around?

I highly recommend the Morgan Carbtune.

Yeah, it costs a bit more, but it's worth it.

Today's cost (it's from the UK, so price changes with the exchange rate) is $112.81.

.

Probably not. Most of us already have a better one.

You can buy them at several places for a fixed price.

Ok....it's time for me to get one.

I like the vertical setup of the CarbTune and MotionPro over the less expensive horizontal sets, they just look easier to hang and use.

So, MP or CT......is one more user friendly than the other?

I would prefer one that comes with the required fittings.

I looked and must be missing something..... it looks like they are having a special at 64euro and 3euro shipping? Which is $ 91.3874 USD EDIT: I just ordered the combo with colortune ..for $90E which should work out to about $123 delivered to my door

The Morgan does come with cheap plastic fittings, but its easy enough to make some good ones in the best length to fit your engine. Other than that it's great, super easy to use. The liquid tube ones will do, but it's a lot more difficult to use, especially when the mercury or whatever they use spills out.

Awesome deal! The Motion Pro's get crappy reviews. Fluid spills or gets sucked into the engine.

Hi, don't mean to confuse matters further but those gauges look amazingly like,I mean exactly like ones I bought a couple of years ago in UK but in a better box, the ones I got were in a much smaller cardboard box on which it said economy gauges and made in Taiwan. That said they seemed to preform perfectly well and I never had any problems stabilizing the gauge needles as each gauge came with its own individual damper. From what I understand if you need Professional and Quality then it's Morgan but these have done me ok. Hope this helps but pretty sure it won't LOL.

$25 more will get you the real thing. Charge a few friends $25 to synch their carbs and it's free.

Yes, I also note the 67 Euro price, but when I plug that into the currency convertor, I get $112+.

Z1 sells some brass adapters that will replace the "cheap plastic fittings" quite nicely.

I have a Motion Pro unit here that uses the blue liquid. One of the tubes has a leak. Tried fixing it once, not sure if I want to try it again.

For now, I will stick with my mercury sticks, but (if) when they fail, I will get a Carbtune. I have had my mercury sticks for 34 years, they still show no signs of giving up.

The biggest problem with dial-type gauges is that you have to check calibration on them every time you use them, to make sure they are all reading the same, before you put them to use on the engine.

I can't quite put my hands on it, but something is telling me this is a nice set:

Yes, it's a nice set. The gauges aren't bad, either.

I use the Motion Pro Syncpro and am happy with it. I'll preface by saying I have never synced carbs before and used the Syncpro for the first time yesterday. I read all the horror stories about fluid getting sucked in. I had no such problem. I followed the instructions to the letter and the Syncpro performed very well. It took no more than 20 minutes from calibration to completion. I was looking at the Morgan Carbtune as well and it looks like a great device. But I got a great deal on the Motion Pro which is why I chose it over the Morgan.

Cheers!

If anyone around Colorado want a set of mercury sticks, I have one I no longer use.

Can't ship it with the mercury, but I can send them without it if you can get some to refill it.
