A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I've never bought anything from junkyard and I emailed this place about a sissy bar for my bike and they sent pictures of one, it is pretty rusted and needs a new pad and they said it is $75. Does this sound right and are these places usually open to negotiation?

That looks pretty beat up for $75. I'd pass but that's just my opinion.

For $75 it should be in great shape. Tell the guy that, otherwise he can keep it. I got a complete header-muffler in next to new condition for $100.

I agree, that looks pretty ruff. I'd rather go new and fully chromed myself.

I wish $75, they look like a full setup would be at least double...

too high!!

too high!!

I bought mine with some rust and a broken mount.. for 20 bucks.. it has some rust on it but that was not what I was wanting.... it will be covered mostly by a travel trunk.. and the back rest will come off ( trunk opens into backrest.. no good to keep the rest on.).

Tell him to keep the junk in the junkyard. I bought a beautiful one on Fleabay for about the same price.

You've got that right! We have a huge bike junkyard here in Minneapolis, but most of the stuff is left out to the weather and is crap or turns to crap very quickly. But you bring it to the front desk and you'd think you were buying gold. I've told them many times to keep their junk. There is always other sources.

Thats a KG universal sissybar/luggage rack, which you see all the time on ebay. I have 2 of them for my Honda's and payed $20 each with no rust or rips. If you shop ebay remember these are "universal" so if they say it came off a Kawasaki...so what it will still mount to anything.

Here ya go:

If this stays at this price I may bid on it myself:

How are you identifying them as universal? They all seem different to me...

The front tubes are sliding, they bolt onto the top shock mounts. The backs of these have various holes that usually line up to whatever your mounting the back to.

I got one for ya

Hey b1ackd3ath, I have a nice rack and sissy bar, rack is a bit rusted on the bottom but will clean up with steel wool easily, sissy bar and back rest are in great shape, no tears, etc. If you're interested let me know, I can beat $75 beans by a long shot.
