DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hey there everybody. I currently have a 1980 gs 1100e model that is either from canada or europe. It has a km/hr gauge instead of a mile per hour gauge.
Anyways, it has aftermarket 4 into one exhaust by yoshimura racing and a k&n cylinderical air filter but no airbox. I bought a dyno jet kit for it thinking that would be the answer because when I first picked the bike up it didnt run right.
The dyno jet instruction had me change the needles and put different jets in. Well it ending up being off even further. No one wants to work on this thing because it is foriegn. I dont know enough about it to be able to tell what I need to change. Anyone have any ideas about where I should start with this jetting?
The needles I put in were way larger at the bottom. Should I put the thin ones back in or stick with the large ones? Get them jetted right and I suppose i have to sync these things. They are cv carbs though so thats a plus. Any info would help. Want to ride this bad boy. Thanks.

The DJ needles are the ones that taper to really small at the ends.
Do you have 4 individual filters or one filter in place of the filter box?

If the Dynojet needles are fat at the bottom you got the wrong kit.
You have a 16 valve 1100 and it sounds like you got an eight valve kit.
Doesn't matter if it a foreign bike. The motors are the same.

The dynojet kit for the 1100 16v has needles that look like the one below (the silver one)

In europe they call it a gsx 1100 i have one !!!!! good luck with your carb...

80 gs1100

80 gs1100

My 80 1100 is running 4-1 & pods. I use stock needles set to the middle, 130 mains, 47.5 air. It idles fine & pulls from 1000 to redline like a freight train.

... so, which jetkit did you buy stg 1 & 3?. which jet sizes went in? and what was the kit #?
