A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I am replacing the fork seals on my 79 Gs1000E and want to use good fork seals. I used "leak proof" brand on my 80 1100E and thought I bought them at bikebandit.com
I can't seem to find any for the gs1000E. Any recommendations and suppliers locations?

81 pounds to ship

81 pounds to ship

Your right they got them for 19 pounds but shipping is 81 pounds. That is $200 for the fork seals. let me know if your flying over here any time soon I'll meet you at the airport and pick them up from ya. Thanks for the try though.

shipping to the UK is like $40.00 from here
genuine suzuki seals at $15.00 each or parts unlimited brand 9.00 ea
fluid another $16.00

for a $100.00 parts and shipping is more accurate

The supposed "leak proof" fork seals are not all that good think about it they are exactly the same size as any other seals for that bike so cant be any more leak proof than any other set :?

Heres a tip though i always use PJ1 fork tuner fork oil in my bikes for a couple of reasons #1 you can get the correct weight oil not just light medium or heavy weight #2 it contains a lot of the chemical that swells the seal & makes them seal better when compared to other oils :-D

Cheap seals are sub ?10 over here so dont know where the prices listed above came from :|

I got mine on ebay....since you have used them before, you already know that they are a 'push fit' (2 finger deal).....the material and design are different from OEM as well. I have run them for 2 seasons now with no problems...went with Progressive springs ( no air pressure) at the same time, though ...which should also help longevity (I hope :)).
