Hey All,
Back again, I'm one of the many still fighting with the 79 GS 1000L carbs. I've tried all the suggestions & none seem to help. I'm going to remove the carbs again & resoak them for a couple of days & see if that helps. I only soaked them several hours worring about the plastic parts. I have another question, I have a 79 GS 850 I got for parts. I haven't tried this yet but would the stock airbox off it fit & provide enough air flow for my 79 GS 1000 ? It appears that if might be easier to wrestle into the area that held the stock box on the 1000. I would have to go back to my stock #95 mains from #120's probably. I'm not so sure I want pods on anyway if I'm going on long rides as unstable as the weather is in Wyoming. The 1000 has a Suzuki 4 into 1 exhaust & I don't have the stock ones. Will this combo possibly work, 850 stock airbox, #95 jets, & really clean carbs???
Thanx for all your help...
God Bless,
