DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I'm having to redo the kreem job on my gas tank which has been causing issues. I'm going to be doing the carbs with a friend at the same time. I hear there's a lot of controversy on cream. Should I use a different product like red coat. Also is there anything special I need when cleaning carbs. I'm also going to be cleaning out the fuel petcock I just need o rings for that right? Thanks in advance

I used Caswell's liner to cover a rusty tank. I followed their directions and haven't had any issues in the 2 years since.

I cant give super long term feedback but so far I am very happy with the kbs kit I bought. I think it was about $50 bucks and came with cleaner, rust remover and liner material. Took me a whole weekend to do but the inside looks amazing and it seems to be holding up well.

Here are my thoughts on the KBS
https://success.kbs-coatings.com/topic/2188-motorcycle-tank-thoughts-and-advice/

There are two PDF's links floating around that I cant seem to find the link to now that explain the carb cleaning step by step and its damn near idiot proof .. however I was a big enough idiot not to use the wire to poke through various passages the first time so I landed up doing it twice. If no one chimes in with the links I will upload the pdfs and you can download them there.

If you havent visited here yet then it is a first step

If you add your bike, year and model to your signature we could offer some answers.
Few people have had any luck with petcock rebuilds. Replacement might be a better option.

This stuff is the bomb! Have used it for two cars and a truck(60's) and no issues, but I only run recreational fuel after having the seals in the strombergs rot from ethanol gas. They sell motorcycle size portions also. Don't get lazy with the nuts and washer shaking to clean out before the metal prep.. Tape your whole tank before starting if the paint is being kept. I use plumbers pressure test bungs for the fill hole. Have used the KBS system also just like the POR 15 product better. http://www.por15.com/POR-15-Fuel-Tank-Repair-Kit_p_62.html how to vid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sf2veir5VHU
