If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

hello, my gs750 1979 seems to be having a bad day. ive put in kits 102 mains ,#15 and new fuel metering screws. I guess that's what they,re called. anyway im running rich and don't know how many turns to set screw. I want to get close then vac. sync. these are pre set from factory. the owner before me had the carbs all messed up. also just put in a dyna s ignition just trying to pull it all together. anybody that can help please do! the bike starts right up but when igo to speed up ,seem to bogg down somewhat . the timeing is right on also. spark plugs b8es arenew. right now ,running k/n pods but putting in airbox.

When you take out the fuel screw (the one on the bottom by the float bowl) you should be able to see into the carb throat. When you lightly seat (do not over tighten!) you should be able to see the tip of the fuel screw in the carb throat. Make sure there is not a broken tip in any of the carbs and that the holes are the same size since I've seen people drill these out to get a broken tip out.

The fuel (bottom) and air (side) screws only affect the idle and off idle

Where do you have them set?

Where are you rich?

What exhaust do you have?

thanks for getting back . I will check these things over tomorrow morning. the bike has factory exhaust new carb kits dynas system complete. everything is set as far as timing . the bike just is like starving for fuel when throttling up. the needle jet is also set factory at the #2 ring on needle.,#15 pilot (air) ,#102 main .the fuel metering on the bottom of carb is now at 2 turns out.im going to set the vac. tomorrow. the bike was running really good then acted like running on 2 cyclinders. I thought that the coils were getting hot and failing . that's why I changed everything out. my other rides are 76 kz900 great shape, also 1100 virago 86 great shape. these bikes are all there. the 79 gs was missing a rear fender ,tail light etc. so I always wanted to do a bobber so.....that's what ive done .looks really good. I call it the roadster. stock pipes, shorty shocks, mini signals, solo seat, drag bars. sits really nice.
I also got an extra (complete) motor which id like to find a frame of some sort and do something. being on disability all I have is time. well thanks for your input and ill let you know how it works out. any words of wisdom greatly needed. 1979gs750e
