DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hello again, I have a quick question. I have an 83 gs750t with stock config. What do I adjust on the inside of the carbs and what do I adjust them too? I know what the floats and fuel levels should be, but what about everything else? Do the main jets, pilots, etc get a few turns out or are they preset? All the parts are there and new. I'm about to get a colurtuner and I want to start off with stock settings. Thanks

All the parts may be "new", but are the bodies clean?

I mean CLEAN. If the bike has been sitting for any length of time, they need to be fully stripped and dipped to get them clean, then re-assembled with fresh o-rings from cycleorings.com.

As far as adjustments go, there is really only ONE. The idle mixture adjustment screw, which is on the top of the carb outlet.

The stock setting of that screw varied a bit from the factory, most were about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns out. Most of us agree that 3 turns is a good starting point, then adjust them for highest idle speed once the engine is fully warmed up. They may end up about 2 to 2 1/2, but start at 3 to ensure you have a good starting point.

All of the other stuff inside the carb should be installed rather snuggly.

Actually, there are other adjustments, but they are the sync adjusters between the carbs and the master idle speed control. :o

Thanks for the info. Everything is clean and new. I adjusted everything today, fired it back up and its pretty close to good. I just got the colourtuner so that will bring me to near prefect, thanks again.
