A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

So I have GS1150 carbs on my 82 GS1100.
I have cleaned them, installed the Dynojet stage 3 and the bike runs good.
Starts with the choke, all plugs have a nice tan color to them, pulls good etc.
My question is I have removed the carbs several times to set the needles just right and everytime I noticed quite a bit of gas in the throat of the carbs and inlet boot area.
My floats are set right at factory specs so is this normal?
My settings are DJ138 main
stock pilot and air pilot, 2.5 turns out
needles at 3rd clip from bottom.
thanks for any help on this.

Cheers
Paul

Don't know about the gas, but you don't need to remove your carbs to adjust the needles... just remove the caps.

Yes I know you can remove the caps but I found it easier to remove the carbs, I must be all thumbs. lol

I think that is normal,i run the same setup, and i worked on another gsr's bike with the same setup, and the same thing happened with his.Don't lose sleep over it.hope this helps.

And,your settings are the same as mine,u have her tuned in well, good job!!

Have to remember yu have 2mm bigger throats with the same air draw happeneing.there was a thread some time aggo about air flow pressure thru crbs with quite a bit of interest.

s long as your oil never smells like gas, which i check EVERYTIME before i ride,u will be fine

I run that set up too. Love the way it pulls on the top end. Anyway, gas in the throats is normal.

Thanks guys for the feedback.
I am not going to worry about it then.
Yes the bike pulls great and runs great as well.

Cheers
Paul
