I have a 1978gs 750 with pod filters and a 4-1 pipe.... I have cleaned the carbs....swapped the main jets for bigger ones and the bike would raise idle once it got warm and still ran a little lean....so i tried raising the needles.....i first went #2 setting from the bottom and it fired right up but idled crazy high!!!! I messed with the air screws on the side but they seemed to do nothing untill they were only a half turn out! So i knew something was wrong......i just switched the needles one setting up to let less fuel in......thinking that i went too far.....this helped with the unburned fuel smoke out of the pipe ....but it still idles crazy high as soon as it starts. I am thinking bigger pilots? But not sure. Someone please help!!!
