    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I think it's 5mm on all Suzukis but I'm sure someone with a '78 will confirm. One word of caution: Make sure that price is for 4 of them...if it's not, you can find them for a lot less money.

Yes, I think they are one per carb. Where would they be cheaper?
 
Ahh, hell, I'll get them anyway, at this point what's another 30 bucks. I think I've already spent a grand in parts this year alone, **** me off.

And just how is that going to bastardize your manometer? Looks like they attach to the bike.

When they are installed, you will love them. My KZ1300 had similar items from the factory. The center two (#3&4) were joined together and went to the PCV valve, the others had rubber caps. When it was time to sync the carbs, it was a simple matter of removing rubber caps or hoses and installing manometer hoses. :-D

I thought about getting them but realized that the price was ridiculous so I checked around. I found a place, on-line, that sold them for $1.25 a piece. I'm sorry I can't recall the name but I'm sure it was in the Bay area (near S.F.). You might even be able to buy them at a hydraulic supply store but I don't know about that.

I don't really understand why they would be necessary. I wouldn't think that the synch would get 'out of whack' all that often. Maybe someone can offer some information on that.

EDIT: I just remembered....I'm pretty sure the place was in Hercules (which is in the east bay near Oakland) and it was a motorcycle parts store.

By the way, Hondas and Suzukis use 5mm. Some of the Yamahas use 6mm. Most Kawasakis have a plug built in.

I'm planning on creating a manometer of the bastardized version as I am too cheap to pay 150 bucks for a set. Picked up a cheap gage and will do a manifold type of hook up. If I get adventurous, I may try to make a gravity one. I just need a good alternative for mercury as I would probably have troubles getting my hands on some here, and water wouldn't work, because it would require a 20 foot high manometer.
 
If you are so inclined you can make your own adaptor fittings. Just get a couple of inch long 5mm bolt studs, cut off the hex head and drill a hole through the center. Takes a good eye and a drill press, but quite do-able. Then attach a nut with a rubber o-ring to seal against the intake and use a little teflon tape to increase the outer diameter of the end that you'll hook up to the 3/16 vacuum hose. voila.
