A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

You are still pretty much on the pilot circuit at those low throttle openings. How far out are your mixture screws? They should be somewhere in the range of 2 to 3 turns out from lightly-seated on a stock bike. Try that and report back.

.
i'm either blind, an idiot or both. i can't find any mixture screws. i've gone through my clymer manual and basscliff's BS32 manual to check if i'm missing something...nothing on mix screws

well crap, i am blind. i see them. i also did plug chops in two ranges this morning. all plugs are the same color except for #2. at low speed, in the trouble range, it was gray. at wide open, it became lighter gray, almost white. what does this tell me, rich up # 2 a fuzz?

the 'trouble' range starts at 35mph and she runs unven (spits and sputters). past about 45-50mph, she evens out and is fairly responsive.

Yes, I am not sure if I missed it but have you already done the valves and intake o-rings? If you airbox is sealed up properly your air mix screws should be pretty close to each other in turns.

looks like some seepage around the intake and boots, especially #2, so the o-rings may need replacing. valve shims are waiting for middle of november pay day

after the readings i took yesterday, i adjusted the mix screw on #2 from 2.5 to 3. there is just the slightest roughness, but much improvement. no more loss of power and no more surging. this in only a temporary thing. i'll re-work the carbs with new o-rings, a cleaning and boot/intake o-rings over thanksgiving. i'll see what happens and go from there. oh, and valve shims. thanks for the help! i'm sure i'll bug everyone for more info soon.
