If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

It's running out of the 3&4 carb. I have already checked the floats and they seem fine. I haven't dunked the carbs but I have sprayed them with carb cleaner. Please help

Have you verified the petcock is working properly? What bike is this for?

You're going to want to pull them apart and dip them properly which will entail replacing orings (get them at www.cycleorings.com), the proper dip (Berryman's in the gallon can with the basket), and 4 days (one per carb). Look at this site (you'll get the official welcome later), http://members.dslextreme.com/users/bikecliff for instructions on doing this.

pull your gas line of your fuel petcock and see if it drips it should not trip if the engine is not running

its most likely the needle and seat the needle is probley worn out and letting the gas get buy

Hi Mr. Calebduncan1",

Overflowing Carbs

Then start with the basics; properly clean the carbs, fix the air intake system, adjust the valves, etc. It's all in the maintenance lists in your "mega-welcome". Skipping steps or taking shortcuts will be frustrating at best, dangerous at worst. You can't slap a band-aid on a 30 year old bike that has been neglected for 20 years. All of the maintenance has to be properly performed. Check out all of the information in the links below. :)

If you are here you probably have a 30 year old motorcycle that needs about 20 years worth of maintenance. You'll find all kinds of helpful tips, procedures, manuals, diagrams, "how-to" guides, etc, in the links below. Let's get started.

Let me dump a TON of information on you and share some GS lovin'. :D

I just stopped by to welcome you to the forum in my own, special way.

When I take the fuel line off of the petcock, there is a constant stream of gas coming out

Might be a problem!!!! What style petcock do you have- lever or leverless? What bike/model/year is this- put in signature to aid us old folks.

It's a 82 gs750L and it has a lever. I'm going to order a petcock just to make sure. What website has the most gs parts?

make sure you do an oil change after you get this sorted out, you don't want to risk running the bike on gas washed oil.. check your oil level and see if it's higher than it was..

plugged vent ports can cause this also. Put a piece of tubing on the vent thats on carb 4 and see if you can blow air into the carbs..

First I would like to thank everyone for the help!
Here is a update I got it to stop leaking and I also got it to run now!!
But as soon as I give it has it falls on its face, acting like not enough fuel.
It has a Vance and Hines header back and airpods. I've already adjusted the air fuel ALOT, do I need to stick a stage 3 jet kit in it?

Hi,

From your "mega-welcome". Refer to #4.

Reading all of the information given you will save you a lot of time and frustration.

Full tear down and dipping ( 24 HRS per carb body..2 bodies in the can at the same time) Internals also get a 24 HR dipping. Poke all the holes with a fine wire and be sure to get the one at the tip of the pilot screws.

New orings from cycleorings.com

Lube orings with some grease or vaseline when installing the screws.

Proper float hts

Valves adjusted

Vacuum gauge sync once all maintenance is done and its back running.

Check timing.
