    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi all, I bought a 4 gauge Carburetor Synchronizer from thealphamoto on ebay. This tool came with good quality brass adapters much better quality then motion pro adapters these are longer and have butt plug restrictors built in, also another set of 4 manual air restrictors, hoses and pretty clear instructions.
From the bat i was able to synch all four gauges to each other and then got my carbs synced in like 5 minutes. Bike never ran this well since i had it. I have zero affiliation with the seller just thought i'd give a credit to a quality tool for a reasonable price.

Nice set great price! I got a carbtune last year...too bad I didn't find these before that :confused:

hehehe... butt plug restrictors...
 
well i have no idea how to call it. Instead of a open end tube adapters have plugs with a pinhole in each. ill take a pic next weekend when i get back to the bike.

Hi,

The Carbtune instructions just call them "restrictors".

They smooth out the vacuum from the carbs so that the gauges don't jump around so much.

One of the pains of analog dial-type gauges is that you have to synchronize the gauges to each other before connecting them to the bike. And you should really do that every time. For those of you with only one bike to work on, you will only be doing that every couple of years or so, so it won't end up being much of a pain. For some of the rest of us, those who have multiple bikes or travel to visit others to work on their bikes :eek:, a liquid gauge is priceless. I live dangerously, mine is actually Mercury, and it travels with me, whenever possible, especially if I am using my van. :D

the real restrictors are the little white jobbies. Yes the extensions have small ID's but you can really restrict the needle bounce by turning dow the restrictor thumb screw.

As Steve mentioned you should do an adjustment to get all the gauges in sync. You do that by connecting all together and remove the face plates. Adjust the brass screws on the face .

Only issue I have had is tha rubber hoses area little cheap but very functional for the price.
 
I have the very same set. the only negative is hose quality. I need to get some better hose and they would be outstanding. Great price for the tool though.

While reading through this thread I was also looking for a used carb synchronizer. Further procrastination at work brought me to another motorcycle forum,

P.S. I also went to Ebay and thealphamoto currently has none of the quoted carb synchronizers currently available
