carby question

I read in earlier posts about fitting the 36mm carbs off a GSXR1100 work well on a GS1100. These are hard to find in Australia and if you do they are likely to be well worn. My question is does anyone know if the Mikuni BST36SS carbs off a 1996/2000 Bandit 1200 have the right spacing to fit a GS1100.
My bike is a GS1100GK with sidecar and it is starting to get alot of transmission backlash, especially when hot. If your not smooth with throttle and gear changes it is really noticable. Any suggestions on where to look.

Can't be absolutely sure re carbs but I think the answer's yes, same spacing.
Re your transmission backlash - as a matter of urgency have a look at the front U joint - the retaining nut works loose and the slop here can break the threaded extension off the shaft. The other point of wear is the splines in the rear hub. Pulling a chair is very hard on the driveline.
