A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

is there a cheap way i cant tint my helmet shield? tinted shields are the coolest thing since sliced bread, its the whole mystique of the motorcycle rider, and i was wondering if its possible to paint my helmet black too, it's an hjc fusion cl-12 so it has a bunch of stupid ass graphics on it that i'd want to remove, i also need to know how to do that.

putting paint on that helmet might alter the bla bla bla and make it weak, you would be better off buying a new helmet.

yea really are u kidding me? i aleady dropped 2 weaks pay on my first one

I understand it's a bad idea to paint any helmet that has a plastic shell. Paint shouldn't hurt fiberglass or kevlar though. Another thing to be concerned about is the styrafoam padding inside. Styrafoam and paint solvents do not get along well at all. Try pouring some thinner into a styrafoam cup sometime, it's like the cup isn't even there (don't try this over the wifes new carpet).

If you remove the shield from the helmet, there shouldn't be a problem in tinting it. I've been contemplating it myself, not for looks, but for functional purposes, sun glare, etc... As for painting it, you'd be better off buying a new one. I purchased mine at the dealership, and still only paid about $110. One of the costs factored into the helmet is all those graphics, and if you get a plain jane helmet, it will reflect in the cost. Just make sure you're still getting a properly protecting hunk of tupperware. Hope this helps, Dominick............

I have the HJC CL-12. I bought a tinted mirrored shield at the dealer I got the helmet from for $15. It was a Yamaha dealer. the suzuki dealer wnted $30 more for the same helmet.
