DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Choke Plunger Assembly source? '79 GS 1000E

Hi all,

I have finally gotten a start on rebuilding my carbs. Not much of a start just yet, but I've never done it before and am in no great hurry. So far, I've ordered and gotten o-ring kit and the hex-head replacement fasteners for carb/intake boots (I have to say these replacements are ideal).

I have just now ordered the top and bowl gaskets so those will be in before I'm ready to re-assemble.

My problem at this point is that the plastic sleeve on the choke plunger assembly that serves as the lift point for the choke plunger is worn badly on 2 of the plungers and not much better on the other two. I've searched the forums for a source for replacement and can't locate a source.

I've looked at BikeBandit, but they are showing that part as being discontinued.

Where else can I look? Would a dealer have this part still? Is there a non-plastic replacement?

All input is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Chris

I've seen aluminum ones but no idea where to find them. I think your best bet is to get some used ones since they are discontinued from Suzuki. I think I have some so if you want to go this route, let me know and I'll pull out the spares box and check.

Thanks Ed,

I'll definitely take what you have!!! If the shoulder/rim of the sleeve isn't mangled it will be better than what I have. In the meantime, I'll keep looking for aluminum ones.

Greatly appreciated.

Chris

Sorry Chris, guess I shot my mouth off too early; just checked my spares box and don't have any of those spool's.

I suggest putting an ad in the Parts Wanted forum, someone will have some.
