All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

G?Day Everyone!
i live in Brisbane, Australia and I?m getting back into my Jap 4 roots from when I lived in Blighty YEARS ago! I?m partial to. Chops, Streetfighters, Endurance Racers, and Factory Specials but not much of a restorer. I have just been given a GS750 along with a rolling chassis. I also have a number of 85 GSXR slabby projects, as finished Triumph chop, XV1100 motocross bike, and a Rocket 3. I love doing 3D cad and can draw pretty much anything if I have time.

i didn?t see an intro section to the forum so please consider this the intro :-)

pics to come!

Beginning the cleanup. Powdercoat remains good, I just have LOTS of degreasing and polishing to do!

Hey Chuck, welcome! Degreasing and polishing... hours of fun!

Where in Brissie are you? If you're keen for a Saturday morning ride the Katana guys meet up for a brekky run every week usually up to Mt Mee if you're interested, I suspect you will fit in well with your two wheeled collection there. Vast majority are either on Kats or GS/X's with maybe an SR500 thrown in for good measure.

Keep us up to date with your progress for sure!

G'Day Pete,
I'm actually in Bundamba, i'm keen to ride when I can. currently the rocket, and chop are on the road. The Yammy is giving me issue electrically but that's all for a different forum LOL

Regards,
Chucky

this is the largest photo I have of the bike as it was when raced

Hhaha yeah... although there is an "other bikes" area here somewhere, the guys here are pretty clued up when it comes to electrickery!

We leave Cashmere at 8am, there's a couple of guys from out your way that join us occasionally also.

Let me know if you're keen and I'll get you the details, the only two rules are arrive fueled up ready to go and don't fall off :D

You'll likely get some good hearted stick if turning up on anything modern but at least you won't be on a Honda :D

Welcome to the forum; the GS Owners section of the forum is where you can introduce yourself if you want. Sounds like a fun project

Was it ever registered like that? I'm sure I've seen it once before riding through Fortitude Valley years ago... or perhaps someone else just had the same tank graphics on a GS... I remember those teeth!

Yes Pete, it would be the same bike! my mate James had it with straight pipes....small world ;-)

Ok that would definitely be it, it certainly had straight pipes, couldn't miss it! :D

The GSX750F running gear is in, and I've done some online comparisons of the hopeful change in performance with the 17's and associated sprocket size. I want this to be a fun streetbike, so I'll keep the 47 tooth Katana rear sprocket and 15 tooth GS front sprocket. this will add about 900 to my 110kmh speed at around 5900rpm, close to peak torque.

Next task is basics like clearances, plugs, oil/filters, carb rebuild, cam chain tensioner etc......the boring bits lol

Tarozzi Rearsets are fitted, found trashed stator wires so I ordered a new stator along with, cover gaskets, intake boot O-Rings, and engine bolts all from Z1enterprises who seem very easy to deal with!

Good stuff Chucky, those rearsets look pretty good, I've heard many good things about Tarozzi. And yep, Z1 are good!
