Clutch master cylinder Q's

So I'm looking for a new(er) clutch master cylinder to fit to my 84 pop up Katana. One that matches my recently (last summer) installed tubular bars. I've been using the original stock masters, and they work okay, but they are angled to match the original clip ons. The new bars are much flatter, and so now the masters sit all skeewampus and make flushing with new fluid difficult. Plus, the sight glasses are all clouded up.
Here's how they look:

So I've found a set of brake and master cylinders on evilbay for a 93 Kawi ZX7L with remote reservoirs. Both are 5/8" piston diameter. My originals are 5/8" brake, and 14mm clutch.

My question is this: How will the larger 5/8" piston for the clutch affect the action of my clutch? As it is now, the clutch is a little "snappy" with very short take-up. Will the larger diameter piston of the Kawi clutch master make this worse due to pushing a greater amount of fluid?
I would like both sides to match if at all possible.

Thanks!

The price was too good to pass on, so I bought. I guess we'll find out how it works in a little while.

Hi,

I'm sorry I can't speak to your issue. But be sure to take pictures and share your results. I like those pop-up Kats. :)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Wow, heavy traffic on this one:p

So the master cylinders came in yesterday, and lo and behold, the clutch has a big fat 14 cast into it. So this makes a 5/8" brake, and a 14 mm clutch, just like my originals.

Question not answered, but rather, rendered irrelevant.

FYI.

And the pictures??

None yet - haven't mounted them up. But when they are, I will. Promise.

So, as promised, here are a few pics of my new (to me) brake and clutch masters:

A few particulars:
The mounts are some old bicycle shifter pod mounts. I've had them for years and never could find a good use for them until now. I think they look pretty slick.

The pivot that holds the shaft that pushes the clutch piston (does that make any sense?) was really worn:

Basically its a piece of brass round stock with a hole drilled radially to hold the aforementioned shaft. No biggie, just get a replacement, right?
But I'm a tightwad, and the hole in the lever that holds the brass pivot is an odd size: .395".
Fortunately, at work, we grind zirconium bar to .3950" - .3960" diameter. As an ultrasonic inspector of said bar, and one who has the ability to reject and throw away an awful lot of bar, there just happened to be a piece in that exact diameter available to me, for free.

So now that problem is solved - just waiting on a replacement clutch lever I managed to break trying to straighten it out - D'oh!

It looked better before. I?d change the reservoir on the jacked up clutch side to one like on the brake side.

Yeah, I'm not super pleased with the clutch side. Maybe find a brake reservoir for the clutch side......
