Clutch Oil Seal Location

I’m hoping someone can help out with where this oil seal goes.

I’m looking at number 26, Suzuki part number 09285-10003. When opening up the clutch and pulling it apart, I didn’t notice the seal, but I’ve been finding lots of missing items from PO’s adventures. Without a reference of where it should go, I can’t for the life of me figure out where the replacement part I got is supposed to go.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

That is likely the clutch push rod oil seal, located on the left side of the bike at the clutch adjustor. Easy to remove and install.

Except, this clutch is operated by a cable attached to an arm at the top of the clutch cover, not a pushrod through from the left side of the bike like some models. I don’t know where that oil seal goes. Trying to remember, is it embedded in a boss on the inside of the clutch cover? Been a couple of years since I’ve had my cover off.

It might not be a seal, because there's no hole there to seal up. It might be a rubber cushion to absorb bounce when the clutch is let go sharply and that actuating shaft comes out. That clutch is the same layout as the 850, but I don't recall seeing that item.

Thanks, Rich and Grimly. I looked inside the cover and there are no bosses where the seal would sit. I looked at Grimly’s idea of a pad, but the hole there the release rack slides into is 15mm and the seals are 16mm OD.

Could it sit under the release pinion? Seems like an odd spot since there is a seal at the top and flow downward wouldn’t be an issue.

I just so happen to have the clutch out of my blown engine. I see nothing in the hole where the toothed bolt (clutch pull rod?) resides in the clutch cover. Models may vary.

# 26 on the fiche for my bike is at the bottom of the vertical shaft. It is a bearing 09263-12014.

Might this have something to do with the oil supply to the pinion shaft.
I seem to recall some later 850s had an oil jet in the top of the clutch case cover.

Thanks all for the ideas. I think I may have found it. There's a seal tucked in where I have marked in blue. The ID of the seal is 10mm which matches the part number at 26 on the diagram, and that matches the post on the back end of the release rack. OD is close, but won't know for certain until I pull it out and get my calipers on it.
